Killing Baby Seals

lol

The presidential seal has fallen off President Barack Obama’s podium and clattered to the stage as Obama delivered a speech to a women’s conference.

The president was joking with the audience and getting some laughs when he realized what happened. “All of you know who I am,” he quipped.

Obama told the audience that somebody in the back was really nervous, referring to the staffer who hung the seal on the front of the lectern so precariously.

Interesting that his reaction is to (first) reaffirm that everyone knows who he is and (second) threaten a staffer for the mishap.

  1. That is interesting.  I heard that he’s a test tube baby who was created in a lab at the South Pole and engineered to destroy capitalism and make Kenya the 51st state.

Turns out it’s not true, but it really makes you think, amirite?

  3. At least he was able to laugh it off. Not bad, I doubt that was on the teleprompter.

  4. Interesting that Owen’s reaction is to (first) reaffirm that he has very little constructive commentary to provide and (second) post any opportunity to dig politicians he doesn’t agree with, on non-issues.

  5. Not remotely interesting that George is whining about a Owen choosing to post on topics he doesn’t like. You don’t like it here, so go away.

  8. Owen’s reaction was mine as well.

I can’t recall a President who felt he needed to tell everyone he meets that he is the president and that he is “important”

There was a similar comment from him last week on a news special regarding his musical guests at the White House.  Obama commented at length how Bob Dylan was the only star who didn’t want his photo taken with he and Michelle, in contrast to all the other stars who fawned all over him.  Then he chalked it up to Dylan being Dylan.  You could tell the slight bothered the boy who is king.

    Dude has narcissistic problems.

  9. I think it was a good save. I suppose there might be more to be read into it, but I don’t really see the need to dig into it.

Pretty clear that he is indeed loosening up in “off prompter” situations.

Oh, and he is a narcissist, there is not doubt about that… Who else has written as many memoirs before the age of 50?

  10. “I can’t recall a President who felt he needed to tell everyone he meets that he is the president and that he is “important”’

A classic example of an unprovable claim used to support one’s opinion.

And, Locke, where was I whining?

A classic example of George throwing out some nebulous criticism, because he clearly cant think of anything to say except “that is so unfounded, dude.”

  12. The president is speaking to an audience. The sign that designates the podium as “presidential” falls. The president says indicates we don’t need the sign because “you all know who I am”

That is a statement of fact. They all knew who he was, thus the sign wasn’t necessary.

NO WHERE in that is there a narcissistic statement of self-importance. He merely stated that they know who he is.

But go ahead folks, keep finding the littlest shit to criticize about, rather than talk about anything of real importance.

And yes, then criticize me for pointing this out.

    DUMBASSES

  13. I was able to find some video on this.

Could you be a little more nit picky? You are making a mountain out of a mole hill.

    DUMBASSES

    Epic fail.

1.) I said that the post was a bit nitpicky. I clearly said that I thought he made a good comeback from what could have been a terrible distraction to his speech.

2.) I will criticize you for being an ass, because that is all you ever are George. You NEVER offer any actual input, just quick jabs at comments from others….. Just like almost all liberals.

There are conservatives like you, and I tend to call them out for it. Unfortunately for your side, especially this year, it seems to be much more common among liberals, as it always has.

Grow some balls, and some brains. Argue, present some ideas. I dare you.

Unlike you, Scott was at least willing to make intellectual points and defend them… Until he got absolutely blindsided by a comment that was way out of line and disappeared. Unlike you at least Mark Maley is willing to make stuff up and carry on about it as if he were arguing something genuine. No, you George, have NO ideas, NO knowledge, and clearly NO argument.

  15. Unlike you, at least Keith Schmitz was willing to put Shorewood’s money on the line to provide evidence that liberalism is a terrible ideology….

Cheap shots, maybe. But you George are worthy of a few.
