Judge Taped Beating Disabled Daughter

Wow. Stunning.

A Texas judge faces a police investigation and judicial probe after a video showing him beating his then-16-year-old disabled daughter was posted on the Internet.

The graphic video drew international outrage after it was posted by a woman who said she was the victim of the beating seven years ago and that her parents—including her father, Aransas County, Texas, Court-At-Law Judge William Adams—were the ones seen beating and cursing at her in the video.

On Wednesday afternoon, Judge Adams was temporarily relieved of his duties for the next two weeks, and a visiting judge will take over his caseload while the matter is being investigated, according to the office of Aransas County Administrative Judge Burt Mills.

No court dates were scheduled this week, Mills’ office said.

In an interview with KZTV outside his Rockport, Texas, home Wednesday, Adams confirmed to a reporter that he was the man beating his daughter with a belt and a board on the video, taped in 2004.

  2. Lost his temper? That was a drawn out beat down, complete with compassionate mom saying “turn over and take it like a grown woman.”

    Thanks mom!

  3. It’s really bad for human kind. But i am really confused that why the judge was temporarily relieved of his duties ? Why should not be caught and thrown in the jail ? I really hate this system.

  4. It is not just bad for humankind, it is a disaster.  She should have been given a permanent State job and a teddy bear for theft.  Am I condoning this level of punishment, no.  If this guy should be in jail, 60-80% of 60 year olds and older should also be in jail.  Every teacher who taught school before the outlawing of corporal punishment should be in jail.

You know what my favorite hypocrisy of liberals is?  Many of them are atheist, agnostic, or in some progressive church, where a huge majority (certainly of its intelligentsia leadership) laugh at creationism as utterly ridiculous, yet so many of their fights are against the theory of evolution that they truly worship at the altar of science:
Humans are the top of the food chain as most omnivores are…Don’t kill animals, I’ll be a vegan!
This person can’t find a job…that he is willing to take.  Support him forever, everyone else!
Homosexuality is bad.  No it isn’t.  It is not a sickness or a choice, it is just natural for some people.
Well then the ‘gene’ that causes it to be natural is a dead gene, because it will not propagate.  Evolution will kill them all off.  Uh, no it won’t and you should be ashamed of yourself for saying such a thing!!!
Punishment of child misbehavior is bad.  Evolution honed our pain centers to teach us how to survive, but we should ignore evolution, though we believe in it, and teach our children that shelter and pacifism is what is important and all of society should also protect our children as we do when they grow up.

Humanitarianism itself is anti-evolutionary.  If you subscribe to the idea that evolution is a fact, you should be for euthanasia, both voluntary and forced.  The species won’t improve while we are mired in saving all of our weakest, will it?  Now belief in God where every life is sacred, that is a stupid reason to care about life.  Care about life because you believe in survival of the fittest.

  7. Thanks, Dage.  I not conflicted.

Care to actually comment on the observation?  You don’t think it backasswards that significantly more liberals are both the geatest proponents of natural selection, vegetarianism, and animal ‘rights’?  That they believe in survival of the fittest(rather than the archaic mercy of a deity who cares about us), yet they push every agenda that makes all humans equal to the lowest common denominator, or least fit for survival?

Would it not make a lot more sense for those God lovers who believe in a book that says the meek shall inherit the earth to be the PETA/Vegan/provide for all/every human was made in God’s image so all human life is equally valuable, to be the ‘liberals’?

In what way is my drunken, nutty comment flawed, Dage or Major Bore us?  Please pour me my metaphorical cup of coffe and sober me up.

  8. No issues with your observation itself, I just fail to see any connection between it and this video of a man savagely beating a disabled teenage girl with a belt.

  9. No issues with your observation itself, I just fail to see any connection between it and this video of a man savagely beating a disabled teenage girl with a belt.

And the first paragraph?  What is the statute of limitations?  This is 7 years old.  If it was 7 days old would it be ‘worse’, if it were 21 years old would it deserve less scrutiny?  At one point it was acceptable for a teacher to use a hand or a ruler or even, I believe, a belt to discipline.  If this judge should lose his job and potentially face some sort of criminal charge as many libs are calling for, so should every other parent who used a belt, a wooden spoon, etc.  Why does your grandpa draw a pass, but your Dad not, if it was ‘never okay’?

I think of it more as a segue than a non-sequitur.  There is definitely a point at which discipline becomes abuse, but liberals have pushed our society to a point where all discipline is abuse.  Hell we had to have a formal castle doctrine law passed so the perp has less grounds to sue a homeowner for cutting himself on the window he broke to enter the home.  A minor can kill another human being, and if he can convince a judge he is contrite, he faces a maximum penaly of when he turns 18(3 years before he can drink).

At the same time, a child can disturb dozens of patrons at a store or restaurant by screaming incessantly for a candy bar or dessert while the parent could face jail time and loss of job (or spouse) for giving the kid a swat to shut up.  NOTE:  The kid knows it too…  He does not understand what is going to happy to Daddy for swatting him, but he does know Daddy is not supposed to do it.  He has the power.

At the same time Mr Lib looks down on us poor small minded believers in God and laughs at the very idea of creation despite virtually every pioneer in the field of evolution being believers. The belief to replace this backward lot of fools?  Why evolution, of course!  Natural selection, survival of the fittest, yada yada.

The very core of evolution is that people are different in genetic makeup and that undesirable genes will fail, while the core of liberal political belief is that everyone should be taken from and given to, until everyone is/has the same.  If you believe in evolution, you believe that pain is nature’s way of teaching behavior.  Why ever would a liberal crucify parents who practice what liberals preach?  Easy, hypocrisy.

A lucky parent never has to hit a child for discipline, a good parent only has to do it once, ever…no matter how many children they have.  A liberal parent tries to reason with a 3 year old.

  10. “There is definitely a point at which discipline becomes abuse, but liberals have pushed our society to a point where all discipline is abuse.”

Replace “have pushed” with “are pushing” and I’m in complete agreement with you.

However, my opinion on this unfortunate societal trend does not change my opinion on this specific incident. To my eyes, this was a savage beating, delivered in a spirit of anger, not of loving correction.
