John Doe Probe Ends

It’s about dang time. And for you lefties out there who had your hopes pinned to Walker being indicted as a result of this probe, have a nice day.

Just like that, the John Doe investigation into Gov. Scott Walker’s aides and associates is over.

Nearly three years after the probe was launched, retired Appeals Court Judge Neal Nettesheim signed an order shutting down the secret investigation.

In all, Milwaukee County prosecutors brought charges against six individuals as a result of the probe, which was opened in May 2010. Of those, three were former aides to Walker while he was Milwaukee County executive, one was an appointee and another a major campaign contributor.

No additional charges will be filed.

  1. Out with a whimper.  Not exactly a surprise.  Remember when this blog was full frothful lib commentary on how many more Republicans and the Governor hisself were going to be indicted, tried, and put away?

Good times, eh libs?  Kind of like talking about winning the lottery.  You all lost libs, but deep down, you all knew you would, just like the lottery.

  2. Glad its appears to be over at last.  I will happier when the Governor closes his defense fund.  Then we know the whole thing is finally put to rest.

  3. Never has there been a bigger waste of government resources on public safety.

Instead of using DA resources to prosecute real crime in Milwaukee, it’s spent on a political witch hunt.

If The DA used the same scrutiny on Milwaukee politicians like Tom Barrett, Lee Hollaway, Lena Taylor, your average Milwaukee County Board member, or Gwen Moore, they would probably be in jail for life.

  4. Waiting for Barrett’s apology re: “Why doesn’t he come clean…what’s he hiding?”

  5. If I were Walker I’d keep that defense fund account for as long as we have an AG in contempt of Congress.

    Or maybe Dave?

But perhaps the biggest, bestest lie of all is the one where Walker says he is not the subject of a criminal investigation while hiring 4 criminal defense attorneys and setting up a criminal defense fund that by statute cannot be created unless he is the subject of a criminal investigation!

Yea, we should look the other way when any politician’s staff members steal money from vets or set up a secret router network in a public building and campaign for a politician on taxpayer’s dimes.  Busting someone for Child enticement -

It’s time to look the other way.

This never needed to be in a John Doe.  Scott Walker himself turned this criminal in.  Scott Walker should be praised for this.

Normally, I would question liberals turning any criminal in of this type, given his open alternate lifestyle.  If this was Jim Doyle, he probably would not have turned this guy in for fear of liberal backlash, in that scenario, a John Doe would probably be needed.

  11. Yeah sure guys I am disappointed but that’s the system we have. If there was not adequate evidence to prosecute, so be it.  We have a system that purposely has been skewed in the belief that it is better to let a guilty person go free than to incarcerate an innocent person. Doesn’t mean he actually had no knowledge of the work being done on work time by his people, it means none of them turned on him.
