I guess this confirms that Doyle’s planning to run for reelection.
Unless Doyle’s cards fall correctly and Obama appoints him to something. That may be a reason to cheer for Obama over Clinton! Get him OUTTA HERE!
I think I’m going to be sick. I pray the Republicans can find a worthy candidate to beat the you know what from this piece of slime.
I must reveal that I am and will always be a “Green Team” member and can’t tell you how heart broken I was when Mark lost.
Green was not God-send. Remember, he was pro-ethanol. Go Walker!
Posted by on March 12, 2008 at 1018 hrsHey the people of Wisconsin deserve Doyle my guess is the crooked bastard will remain in Madison as long he wants it the people have shown they do not care about things like their governor being on the take.
Posted by on March 12, 2008 at 1023 hrsI pray the Republicans can find a worthy candidate to beat the you know what from this piece of slime.
You mean like they “did” against Nobody’s Senator, or against Feingold, or in Hastert’s old seat, or like they didn’t against Pryor in Arkansas, or didn’t in the 2nd Court of Appeals?
Posted by steveegg on March 12, 2008 at 1051 hrsDoyle 2010? Oh, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit.
But, I could swear that Folkbum told me Doyle wouldn’t run again… Where’s that podcast when you need it?
Posted by Aaron on March 12, 2008 at 1201 hrsAs much as I despise Doyle, the prospect of him as US Attorney General is frightening. If we keep him in Wisconsin, at least he can only destroy one state, not fifty.
Posted by on March 12, 2008 at 1210 hrsEliot Spitzer will be looking for a new gig - maybe he can become Doyle’s paid consultant on how to shake down Big Oil for that extra tax. Target the executives, find embarrassing information and leak it to the media (or threaten to), etc. It worked for advancing Spitzer’s career, his only mistake as they say, was stepping on a certain part of his own anatomy.
Posted by on March 12, 2008 at 1219 hrsMeh, domain names are cheap. It looks like they bought this one in January, and only for a year. As I recall, Tommy Thompson was also buying domain names in advance of his 2006 gubernatorial run that never happened.
If there’s any chance of him running, it’s probably smart to start dropping a couple bucks on domain names before other people get ahold of them. I’d be more concerned if he had registered jimdoyle4life.com .
Republicans can grumble about Doyle, but if he’s so bad, it shouldn’t be hard to find a GOP candidate to clean up in 2010, right?
Posted by Recess Supervisor on March 12, 2008 at 1227 hrsYeah...I noticed his domain name on his fundraising letter he sent out for Lena Taylor today. I found it funny that he said Lena was a “proven and effective leader”.
I guess in Doyle’s eyes...that IS effective.
Posted by on March 12, 2008 at 1305 hrsRS,
There’s a difference between buying a domain name and pointing it at a live site and sending out emails to contributors with the url.
Posted by Owen on March 12, 2008 at 1349 hrsIf we get voter ID Doyle would never win another election.
Posted by on March 12, 2008 at 1931 hrsY’all have my most sincere sympathy. Where should I send the flowers?
Well, pointing it at a live site takes five seconds. But I didn’t know about the fundraising part. I guess if I were on Doyle’s email list I’d know these things.
That said, I look forward to seeing who the Republicans think they’ve got that can take Doyle out, if that’s what it comes to. Doyle mopped the floor with Green in 2006, and I don’t think it’s because Doyle’s been an extraordinary governor. I think it’s mostly a reflection of how bad the Republicans’ bench strength is and what a bad job they’re doing of putting forward any kind of a positive agenda that addresses the concerns voters actually have (here’s a hint: it’s not photo ID or tax credits for Ted Kanavas’ rich friends).
When you act like the minority party, voters will usually send you there in a hurry. All state Republicans do these days, for the most part, is sit back and complain about Doyle. Maybe people would trust them to lead again if they actually showed that they wanted to step up and propose solutions instead of just bitching about the Democrats?
Posted by Recess Supervisor on March 13, 2008 at 0006 hrsReince has two years to put together a team. It will be interesting if the party can do anything correctly.
While I think Walker would be an outstanding candidate if/when he wins in three weeks, I do agree with Recess about one thing (maybe for the first time). We have piss poor bench strength. Not that the Dems have better, but frankly we generally have a better pool of talent. The party, however, does little to get good, attractive, successful people to run. When was the last?
Posted by Crocodile Cage on March 13, 2008 at 0113 hrsEven if he get re-elected, he will have left the state in such a shambles after 8 years there might not be much remaining for him ruin.
Posted by on March 13, 2008 at 1219 hrsI heard about this morning, and was sick to my stomach. “My” lovely idiotic WEAC union (I am ashamed to be affiliated with it only b/c I have to) supports this piece of ****. Yet, I hear so many liberal teachers complain about Doyle. Yet, they will vote for him again and again, and so will others who complain about him. It is so frustrating!!!!!!!!!
I think we should start a thread about all of the good things Doyle did, and all of the bad things he did for WI. I vote the latter of the two will be much longer!
Posted by on March 13, 2008 at 1837 hrsThe GOP brought their A-game with Congressman Mark Green and was thumped at the polls. In 2010, you’ll see the GOP’s B-game (Bill McCoshen, Ted Kanavas, Scott Walker) and the final spread will be greater than 2004.
Tommy’s reelections got easier every four years as will Doyle’s.
Posted by on March 14, 2008 at 0908 hrsWalker is an A-Game player and campaigner. I assume (hope) he will survive his current reelection bid. If so, the GOP would once again be well-advised to nominate a Republican who can win in Milwaukee County. Green was a good candidate who worked hard in his campaign but largely ran a mediocre campaign in a bad year for Republicans.
