Krauthammer, as usual, nails it.
In World War II, with full international legality, the United States blockaded Germany and Japan. And during the October 1962 missile crisis, we blockaded (“quarantined”) Cuba. Arms-bearing Russian ships headed to Cuba turned back because the Soviets knew that the U.S. Navy would either board them or sink them. Yet Israel is accused of international criminality for doing precisely what John Kennedy did: impose a naval blockade to prevent a hostile state from acquiring lethal weaponry.
I typically enjoy Krauthammer, but this endless onslaught of Jewish columnists being handed column inches and TV time to opine about the actions of those running their spiritual homeland has gotten a little silly. Whether it’s Krauthammer, or David Frum (who was featured on the CNN homepage a few days ago), or Leslie Gelb (the former Times correspondent and the first person Krauthammer cites), or Bill Kristol, or Daniel Kurtzer, it’s all very predictable. On and on and on.
If our major media outlets were largely run by Catholics, would it be proper journalism for them to give a bunch of space to their Catholic writers to discuss the assorted sex scandals facing Catholic priests? Conservatives complain constantly (and sometimes with good cause) about a lack of partisan balance in the mainstream media - yet religious and ethnic diversity among those who run/own our media companies is also decidedly lacking. Nowhere is the balance more lacking than on this issue.
I’m not saying that these writers haven’t made some legitimate points - but this is like a high school debate in which one team is given 95% of the time at the podium. At minimum, Americans deserve to hear both sides instead of having a bunch of media elites ghettoize the countervailing arguments so that they can continue to shove their own biased, faith-laden perspectives down everyone’s throats.
Or maybe we should just end this farce altogether and hand AIPAC the keys to the Pentagon. You know, assuming we haven’t copied a set for them already.

I agree, the media should also report that Egypt is part of the blockade.
Dang, I never knew the Russkies were smuggling medicine and drywall into Cuba!
