Iran Picks New Nuclear Enrichment Sites

Um, Mr. President?  You might want to look into this.  Just sayin’.

Iran has identified potential sites for 10 new nuclear enrichment plants and construction of two of them could begin this year, a nuclear energy official said on Monday.

Ali Akbar Salehi, head of the Atomic Energy Organization, said the sites had been chosen in remote mountainous areas to help protect from them from an attack.

“We have earmarked close to 20 sites and have passed the report on those to the president. However, these sites are only potential,” Salehi was quoted as saying by the Iranian news agency ISNA.

“We should begin the construction of two enrichment sites next year,” he said. “In the two new sites, we plan to use new centrifuges.”

  3. Letting the problem linger but advertising the problem should positively impact U.S. sophisticated weapons sales to Israel, Saudia Arabia, and other friendly clients.  U.S. military sites within targeting distance will be scrutinized for weapons systems upgrades: Aerospace/Electronics.  These systems could also perform some double duty on Russia and her allies.  Congress and the senate will continue to divert (tax) dollars to destabilizing the Iranian government: Jul 30, 2009 ... $400 million US tax dollars distributed in Iran for “democracy building”.  These are only the reported funds.

  7. Israel is not going to allow themselves to be wiped off the face of the earth. If we don’t do something about Iran, then Israel will. Once that happens all the other Arab states will attack them and the US will come to Israel’s aid.

Will Russia and China keep their powder dry at that time? Doubtful.
