For all of y’all getting ready to go hunt… here’s a friendly reminder.
Hat tip to Berry Laker.
He’s got the deer hanging the wrong way
No he doesn’t.
The hind quarters (where the best cuts come from) should be hung higher than the fore quarters.
Don’t take my word for it - ask any butcher.
To all you hunters - safe travels, shoot straight and be safe!
Bill - you could not be more wrong. Deer, beef any animal should always be hung head down. You will not properly drain the blood ouf of the animal. You should also lop of the head as soon as you get it hung. I say this as someone who learned to handle meat from a guy who spent his whole life working in the meat packing industry and several farmers who butchered their own cattle.
I’m talking about when you clean the deer. After it is cleaned - yes he has it hung properly.
