    First off, you have not defended the post linked to in my post.  In fact, you seem to be agreeing with me that it is deplorable.

    Second, it’s a pretty weak argument to pull an statement out of the Wausau Daily Herald (as if I read it regularly) and accuse me of “selective outrage.”  Should I pull a quote out of the Tyler Morning Telegraph and accuse you of “selective outrage” for not condemning it?  Pathetic. 

    Third, I have spoken at an AFP rally and support many of their causes.  Is that “affiliated?” 

    Geez, grow up and either defend it, condemn it, or move on.

  7. Owen, you’re freaking out about the Change-Hitler’s-Subtitles Internet Sensation.  It’s this year’s dancing baby or lolcat.  The video you object tois one of about a billion such videos on about a billion different topics re-subtitling that scene for humorous effect.

    I suppose now you’re going to say that “the left” is to blame for conflating fonts and Hitler, or Windows Vista or Burger King or Bill Gates or Star Wars.

    I’m sure that if you looked around, you could find the subtitle-less version and make your own about Obama or Keith Schmitz if you wanted.

  16. I think lots of people on both sides are way too sensitive about this kind of humor.  These Hitler videos are largely pretty clever.

    But Zach, comparing Fred Dooley’s idiotic comments to something like this really does the videos an injustice from a quality standpoint.  Dooley’s nowhere near the level of sophistication that some of these videos show.

  19. Seems like whenever a big story hits, some one re-subtitles that scene showing how pissed Hitler was about event X.  If you think this is some sort of pairing of Palin and Hitler then you haven’t seen this ongoing joke about this scene for the last year or more.

    There’s no reason for anyone to get upset about this.  If Owen, or anyone else here, hadn’t seen these jokes, then it is understandable it was seen as comparing Palin or the GOP to Hitler.

    See, this thread is about the Hitler/Palin video on youtube. Then again, there is a hitler/obama video too. I am still waiting on the post for that one. Me thinks, with the whole selective outrage and lack of clarification of said outrage, it won’t be coming.

    I would like for you to explain how Obama’s middle name and the lefts reaction to the rights attempt to link him to being a muslim compares to a satirical video spoof. Especially since there is a spoof featuring obama as well.

  34. Liberal- you come here with the attitude that it’s no big deal to equate Palin and Hilter.  However, back while Barry was running the Right was crucified for even mentioning his middle name (Hussein).

    See the differance Lib, is that Hussein IS Barry’s middle name, but Palin is not related to, nor does she share a name with Hilter, he actions are not even close to Hilter’s, nor does she have a mustache.

    Barry was born in Indonesia (a muslim country) and his middle name is Hussein (a muslim name) and his father was Muslim (a religion)...see that’s the connection…he is “linked”.

    If you wish to practice selective outrage of your own, go create your own page.  And for those who have already, I’d love to read all your selective outrage posts about unfair treatment from the Right of Obama….Clinton…Doyle…etc.

  38. Kelly, if you need to use the President’s middle name, feel free.  It is, after all what his Mama called him. The operative part of the form of address is the, “Mr President,” part anyway and your silly giggling and tittering over some spurious link between a common name and some sort of political ideology is part of the rustic charm of the Birthers.

    My point about balance is that our erstwhile host is fine with mocking Jessica Simpson but gets all twisted up when the exact same joke is told about SP.  I can hope for something better without expecting it.
