  1. Story on left: Weather.
    Story on right: Climate.

Different things entirely, but you know that by now, I hope.

  2. Indeed.  I wish the Gorestians recognized the same thing.  Every time there is a warm winter, drought, hurricane, or anything else, they infer that it is a result of global warming.

  3. I agree that a single event can’t be attributed to climate change, and that pointing to every weird storm as evidence undermines the strong science.

  4. “The Sky is Falling! The Sky is Falling!”

Where’s the debate on global warming? All i hear is preaching and squelching of anyone who disagrees.

  5. First, it was climate change affecting polar bears and penguins. Now it’s bulldogs, too.

  6. You do understand that the effect of global warming would be more snow in many regions such as ours?  Wisconsinites know that snow doesn’t come when it’s closer to zero.  This is what happens when the temp hangs in the 20s and low 30s.

That said, we have winters in cycles, and we had all those good years of little snow (I didn’t even replace wornout boots) until a couple of years ago . . . just as we had years of little snow after the dreaded mid-‘70s that just about broke us. . . .

The heavier snow years are good for us gardeners, looking forward to all this moisture melting into the ground in a few months.  The drought years were sad to see in the garden.

  7. I think that’s a Boston terrier.  Looks happier than ours does when the snow gets deep.
