Golfer Oversleeps

Dumbass.

Furyk overslept Wednesday after his cell phone alarm clock lost power overnight, causing him to be late for his pro-am tee time in The Barclays. That left PGA Tour officials no choice but to disqualify him from the first of four FedEx Cup playoff events.

  3. I’d call myself a dumbass if I did something that stupid…

  4. If you overslept an important meeting with a high paying client - your boss would probably be calling you unemployed.

So yes - the man is a dumbass.

  5. Dumbass?  No.

The rest of the article clearly shows that Furyk knows he screwed up and that he blames no one but himself.  Dumbasses never accept their failures.

If your cellphone alarm failed while on the road and you were late for an appointment for the 2nd time in XX years, most would be compassionate.

    But not here, of course.

  7. In Seinfeld if you oversleep, you get to sleep with Elaine.

  8. If doing a foolish thing makes you a dumbass, then we all are.

He should be grateful the penalty wasn’t any worse.  Next time, he’ll remember Rule 7: Always have a backup plan.  A wristwatch alarm, a call from his caddy, something.

  9. Hi,
We are currently with Sprint, but they suck so bad, I’m ready to drop them, and just pay the stupid fee for cancelling early. Are there any other cell phone companies you can hook up your laptop to while on the road to access full internet? If so, who are they, and how much do they charge for internet capabilities? (Not from the phone, but from a laptop). Thanks.
