A while back, some of you may remember that I bought my beautiful and talented wife some Global cutlery. She is a fantastic chef and deserves quality tools. I must admit that I think that this was very close to the best purchase EVER.
The knives are fantastic. They are sharp, balanced, comfortable, and a joy to use.
What brought this to mind is that I just cleaned one of them that Wendy used to make dinner. (I hand wash them because I don’t want them in the dishwasher.) In the process, I managed to slice apart a sponge without even noticing.
If you need knives, get some Global knives. They are Owen recommended.

(The middle one is the one that killed my sponge.)
Sweet. But my problem is that I can’t keep my sweetheart from cutting herself accidentally! Last time involved minor surgery and the wearing of a thumb splint for weeks!
Moral of that story: be careful with your sharp stuff.
Nice knives! Where can they be purchased? I should get some new carving knives, for I"ve had mine several years and could stand some newer ones. Thanks for the recommendation.
I believe they have them at Macy’s and Bed, Bath, and Beyond. We bough ours online from MetroKitchen and have no complaints about the delivery or anything.
Ouch, Scott! Tuck the fingers! Tuck the fingers!
My sister is in her 40s and is not allowed to touch knives. The only thing she can cut with them is herself.
She is, however, quite competent with a spoon.
Global Knives are becoming the new “knife of choice” for the pros. I own a few myself. They hold an edge for a long time and, as a bonus, look cool. The price is right, too compared to other professional knives.
Just a hint, Owen, don’t piss her off if she’s slicing and dicing. ![]()
Thanks for the suggestion
