Fullerton Pleads Guilty

Shameful

A political activist and unsuccessful candidate for public office in Waukesha has pleaded guilty to stealing thousands of cell phones worth $1.2 million and reselling them, according to federal court documents.

Troy Fullerton, 34, of Waukesha pleaded guilty to one count of fraud. Sentencing guidelines call for about four years in prison. The U.S. Attorney’s Office will recommend no more than 33 months in prison to U.S. District Judge Rudolph Randa, according to a plea agreement filed last week. No sentencing date has been set.

According to court documents:

Fullerton worked for Verizon Wireless, handling government cell phone accounts from July 2006 until he resigned last year. He ordered 5,010 cell phones from Verizon, purportedly as replacement phones for clients. Instead, he sold them through a side business to other companies.

When confronted by an FBI agent, Fullerton said, “There is no good excuse for this,” according to the plea. Fullerton told the agent he bought lake property and a used Cadillac with money from the sale of the phones, it said.

  1. When confronted by the FBI Fullerton said ” I heard Tim Geitner is on his way out, and I wanted to prove I have what it takes to work for obama”.

  3. Leading up to the special election in the 33rd a few years ago, you said...

Troy Fullerton - Troy isn’t showing up as registered for the race yet, but he is running.  Troy is well-liked in Republican circles and seems to be a good solid conservative.  I don’t know how he’s doing on money.

Well, I guess we know now how Fullerton was doing after the primary!

Does this mean his blog is gone for good?

  4. Wow—-I’m really sorry to hear about this.  Since Troy and I (coincidentally) share a name, and since I, too, am a conservative Republican, I’ve dropped in on Troy’s blog from time to time and even e-mailed him a time or two, referring to myself as his “alter-ego from Oklahoma”.  I actually have no idea whether or not we are related, but it was fun to find someone I shared a name with who also shared my political views.

People make mistakes (sometimes big ones).  I sincerely hope that when Troy is past this whole episode in his life, he’ll be able to find his peace in God, put his life back together, and move on.  It would be a shame to fall down and to just stay there.  I’ll be praying for him and for his family.
