Fond du Lac GOP’s Elephant Vandalized

This stinks.

The Fond du Lac County Republican Party parade float elephant was vandalized and reported missing Saturday from campaign headquarters.

The parade float has stood watch over the GOP headquarters throughout all the past elections without incident, said county GOP Chair Dan Feyen.

The elephant was vandalized and stolen sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday from outside the local GOP headquarters at 501 W. Johnson St., Fond du Lac.

The plywood elephant mounted to a trailer was broken off at the lower legs. Feyen described the elephant as gray in color, standing 6 feet tall and about 7 feet long and wearing a painted blanket with the words “Fond du Lac County Republican Party.”

Two American flags that were attached to the float were also damaged.
