Wendy and other folks are organizing for a pickup for a wider effort to help the people who are now homeless because of the recent fire in West Bend. Here are a couple of stories from the Daily News regarding the fire.
Church leads effort to help displaced families
Couple thoughts… it is great to see how the good people of our community have come together to help our neighbors. It’s truly heartening.
If anyone will be in the Tosa area this evening and would like to donate anything, here’s some info on how to do it http://is.gd/bh3Xd
“Organizing” is too strong a word. I’m just offering to pick stuff up. The Community Church is doing ALL the work. I’m just offering to bring stuff to them. ![]()
I dropped off some household items at Community Church today. The basement was packed with clothes, useful items, furniture, toys and more. Several church members were sorting the clothes to make it easy for the families to find what they need.
It is a good start for all the families. GOOD JOB West Bend!! We are blessed to be a blessing to others.
The collection continues all week.
We are in need of two trailers to store furniture in. We are running out of room! Can anyone make some calls? Kruepke perhaps or ??? Still need BOXES!
Kruepke generously donated a trailer! :-D
We have plenty of clothes. Need new bedding and pillows. Some complained about asking for new, but health issues and allergies would be in the forefront of that request. We won’t turn away very gently used sheets, comforters if freshly washed and in nice condition.
Account has been set up at M&I. Here’s the info:
