Fewer 90 Degree Days In Wisconsin

Brrrrr....

It hasn’t hit 90 degrees in Milwaukee yet this year. And forecasters at the National Weather Service in Sullivan apparently have been fascinated with the cooler weather.

Last week, they reported the number of days this year where the temperature got close to 90, but didn’t quite make it.

Now they’re noting that so far this decade, Milwaukee has had fewer 90-degree days than any decade since the 1900s. In Madison, the last decade with as few 90-degree days was the 1920s.

Of course, there’s more time this summer and next to bring up the number of hot days for the decade. But the Weather Service says there’s been a downward trend of 90-degree days since the 1980s.

The possibility of Milwaukee having its first 90-degree day of the year today may have fizzled with this morning’s storms.

  2. Growing up in Northwest Wisconsin, it seemed we had one 100 degree day every other year or so.  Since I moved to Southern Wisconsin 14 years ago, they seem to have become extremely rare.

And that leads into a peeve of mine.  I’ve heard complaining about the heat in the news in the last week.  Really?  I’ve been out there, and it has been warm and muggy, but hot?  C’mon.

  3. Y’all are welcome to some of the heat we’ve been experiencing down here in Texas. Temperatures in the 90s would be a welcome relief.

  4. Aaagh, but remember. Algore said the global cooling is being caused by global warming.

  5. Check out the current solar pictures - which show the sun is in a decreased state of solar activity - following its normal 11 year cycle…

Maybe Gore sold the sun a bunch of carbon credits…
