Feingold Operative Tapes Johnson

OK, I just realized how naughty that headline sounds… in any case… from Real Debate.

According to Johnson campaign staffers a person from the Feingold campaign has been following Johnson taping everything he does.

The operative came to Drinking Right, sat at the bar, ordered a Heineken and discretely held a video recorder in his lap taping everything Mr. Johnson did. The manager at Papa’s noticed and did not take kindly to having his customers video taped without having any permission asked.

The Feingold operative was asked to erase the recording and asked to leave. Apparently he drove away in a vehicle with Virginia plates.

  1. Hooray for politics!  What a great and mature system!  I can’t wait to vote and get involved!

In political speak: Na na na boo boo I’m filming you pbbbbbbbt Go blue team! Go blue team!

Or more simply: “I must have the precious!”

  3. Yes, every rational adult naturally pays people money to stalk other people, all the time, in every setting.

It sure would be refreshing if you liberals could win on your ideas.

  5. No different than those lawbreaking kids who tried suckering ACORN staffers into doing naughty things.  This is an old, old game and both sides play dirty with it.  Although apparently this guy could use a lesson or two in discretion.

If you’re going to play dirty, don’t get caught.

Good. Goooood.  I can feel your anger.  Now fulfill your destiny and join the dark side.

If you’re going to play dirty, don’t get caught.

Or don’t play stupid childish games because it’s politics and so highly regarded and needed in our lives.  We need more scumbags running around discretely filming the “enemy” so they can win a popularity contest because their what their enemy did or didn’t do.

Seriously, watching the kids on the playground making mud pies and throwing rocks at each other is more noble than this idiotic politics.

  7. I was at a fundraiser about a month ago and saw this guy with his video camera. He showed-up uninvited at a noon Kiwanis meeting where Ron was speaking, then followed him to a fundraiser for a state legislator later that afternoon.

I wanted to upload the video I took of him to a blog, but I can’t seem to find the cord for my camera. I’ll look for it and maybe we can all see the Feingold sleaze machine in operation.

P.S. - Some of you lib trolls on here oughta clean up your language. Losing gracefully is a virtue; cussing-out your betters is just childish.

  9. Also, are we supposed to believe the Johnson campaign that this person was from the Feingold camp? How do they know he wasn’t from that other guys camp, Neumann?

And to top it off, you linked to rdw, why don’t you just link to a story on newsbusters. I would give more credibility to newsbusters over rdw.

  14. Modern liberal politics has become a cut-throat game of “gotcha” sound bites. Republicans need to tread very carefully… they should understand that the slightest mistake will be twisted in the media and replayed until the election. That’s why the Democrats use these shadows. They work. Think about “Macaca”. That one obscure comment destroyed a Republican Senator and Presidential hopeful. The process only works one way too… liberal presidential candidates can spew veiled racism (or unveiled) and make derogatory remarks about other with impunity… perhaps not total impunity, but they must rise to a shocking level before the complicit media will even note their actions with any disdain.

Careful Mr. Johnson. Russ and his cabal are out to get you… of course, that would indicate that Russ is afraid of losing…

this happens in almost every campaign across the country…....and provides the fodder for blogs like this.

That’s the same thing shoplifters often say… “everybody does it”. Drunk drivers often utter that phrase as well…tax evaders ... test cheaters… people who hire illegal immigrants,,, you get the picture.

Of course, it’s not true… but it makes people feel better about their bad behavior when they assume that it is the norm. It’s not George. I see that you’ve also fallen into the next trap as well… cursing at people when they point fingers and publicly ridicule the behavior. Don’t be angry at you accusers, but rather stop doing (or supporting) the stuff that you know is wrong.

  15. Fiengold is on his way out and is looking for that one thing that will save him.

It has similarities to Watergate and I believe it is an abuse of power for a Senator to do these things.

  16. Some you mustn’t get around the internet much.

The Accountability Project - A Grassroots, Volunteer Project, etc.

The Accountability Project is a volunteer platform to document Republican candidates and their public statements at local events, as well as their campaign tactics. The Accountability Project allows you to submit videos, recordings, and other items for publication online, so that candidates see that there’s a cost to their dishonesty.

Wanted by the Dems: Embarassing GOP moments caught on tape

The Democratic National Committee is seeking “Macaca” moments. The party today is opening a website, http://www.accountabilityproject.com desig, ned to recruit and display embarrassing audio and video of Republican candidates, as well as information about their schedules and copies of their mailers.

  17. Here is a video of a congressional candidate alluding to the DNC “trackers” in the audience - he invites them to come up front - watch him @ :47-1:25:

Congressional Candidate LTC Allen West Speaking Before The Tea Party Fort Lauderdale July 3rd Rally

Racism alert here - this is a Tea Party event, and I’m sure this is what motivated the NAACP to adopt their resolution against racism in the Tea Party.  If I were a black Democrat NAACP member, I would be scared shitless too.

Note - YouTube has been going on and off line all morning - if link doesn’t work, try again.

Idiots.  Get over yourselves and your Republican perfection.  Jay4Liberty is the only one who has made sense here.  Both sides do it, and it’s basically totally worthless.

  21. Right, Dem candidates are the only ones who tape their opposition

Of course, the Republicans do it - been seeing videos of Democrats going off on constituents at Town Hall meetings.

Just wondering, does the Republican party have a parallel “grassroots” organization doing this too?

  22. Getting the idea about “your betters” now?

No. Did I forget the names of republicans who are running for office that are going to lose to Feingold. Yes. Especially since everyone except Walker came out of nowhere. Johnson follows Walker’s playbook. Following something until the public is against it, then follow the opposite idea pretending that you always supported it. Just like Johnson was for drilling in the great lakes before he was against it.

  23. It’s called tracking. Both sides do it. Republicans AND Democrats! Who do you think caught george allen saying “macaca” ? A tracker. Who do you think helped defeat Creigh Deeds in VA? A tracker? Who do you think caught Biden saying the stupid shit he did? A tracker.

I fail to see how having a beer and tracking is an issue. Guy probably needs one to stomach what Ron Johnson is saying. -not saying I disagree with Ron John, but the guy who’s tracking him is a dem for fucks sake.

  24. Does the name S.R. Sidarth ring a bell?

He’s the guy Democrats assigned to trail George Allen with a video camera.

Thanks to the “Macaca” video and lots of help from the Washington Post, Allen was toast. Apparently, Virginia Dems have a penchant for stalking.

This video tactic is not unusual. But I thought Feingold wouldn’t approve of it, given that Feingold is supposedly so concerned about warrantless spying on individuals and violating their rights.

What is the guy with the camera doing?

To be consistent, Feingold should condemn the guy “spying” on Johnson.

  26. Nothing shocking here.

Washington insider hires out of state political operatives to protect his position at all costs.

As far as I’m concerned the real intrigue lies in who actually paid the guy. Is it the national party? Are they that worried? Is it Feingold himself? If so, it kind of belies his “outsider”, “lone wolf’, “non-politician” image that so many of the lesser-brained lefties seem to buy into.

  28. I think Mary made the most sense in here.  If Feingold is true to his principles he would tell everyone not to do this.  Issue a public statement.

Unfortunately though, Feingold is a fraud so he won’t do it.  Rather we will probably start seeing the Bingo voting parties start up ala Jim Doyle in 2002.

  29. Isn’t Feingold the one who values privacy?  Now, a guy running for office can’t even stop and get a beer without being videotaped.
If a guy is making a big speech, go ahead and record him/her.  But if it is just a gathering then lay off.  Goes for both sides.

  30. I find it interesting that there is actually ZERO proof that this guy works for Feingold. This is how you can tell this came from rdw, no facts of an actual link to Feingold, but facts at rdw aren’t needed to implicate any democrat.

  32. So what is Johnson afraid of?  If he is sincere and his positions are truly his own, well thought out positions, he shouldn’t have any problem articulating or defending said positions.

Or is he going to be another Feingold who won’t allow taping of his public “listening sessions” because he is afraid people won’t like what he is saying?  After all, if there is no proof he said it then it’s just he said, she said, and he is free to change his positions with the wind.

There is zero proof that the guy was hired and is being paid by the Feingold campaign. Agreed.

But the guy is “working” for Feingold. He’s taping Johnson in hopes of getting material to help Feingold win the election. He’s definitely working for Feingold.

  37. So what is Johnson afraid of?  If he is sincere and his positions are truly his own, well thought out positions, he shouldn’t have any problem articulating or defending said positions.

He’s concerned that Rusty’s political sewer-dredgers will cut and paste his comments to make absurd claims, like.., well maybe something humorous like how Ron wants to drill for oil in the Great Lakes or something. You never know how a three-term liberal slime machine will bend truth like a pretzel machine.

  38. How do you know?

Well, I suppose there is always the possibility that the guy is just a run-of-the-mill stalker and his behavior has nothing to do with the election. He could be hopelessly obsessed with Ron Johnson so he’s surreptitiously taping his every move so he can watch his Johnson videos in an endless loop from a dank room in his basement. I admit that could be the case.

Still, I’m confident in my original assessment because incumbent Feingold is fighting for his political life, in a dead heat with Johnson, AND the guy doing the taping is quacking like a duck.

Ron Johnson is free to tape his own appearances so he’ll have video to dispute any of Feingold’s liberal slime pretzel machine.  Once again, if he isn’t saying anything that he doesn’t believe or can’t articulate and defend, then what is the problem?  That goes for all of the candidates, not just Johnson.
The problem is that too many politicians try to say different things to different groups and then get upset when they get called on it.  If they have a good, consistant message, regardless of who they are speaking to, being taped by the opposition shouldn’t be an issue.

  40. Ah for the good old days when Russ ran his commercials where he opened his home closet door and said “See, no skeletons”

Such innocence.  I voted for him then.

    sigh.
