  1. Deep, deep disappointment.  I’m glad he gets to play again, I wish the whole situation had been handled differently, starting in about January.

  2. Sorry that things were handled badly by the team, but not sorry that I will not have to see tractor watch and all things Favre on the local news

  3. ESPN has a top ten everyday and today it is all Favre.

If Rodgers is anything less than Steve Young we can look forward to MM and TT being sacked.

  4. It’s only a game.

That’s an awfully high bar. Wouldn’t even, say, Danny White be good enough? He was really good for quite a while, even if he never won a Super Bowl.

  6. The NYC sports media is going to eat him alive.  WFAN broadcasts online, if you’re interested…

  7. I think I’ll purchase a Jets ‘Favre’ Jersey and walk around the local Wal-Mart for awhile.  That oughta make me very popular with the fat, white, fried cheese-eating fatsos.

  8. NY media has started already - just read today’s articles.  They could be brutal on him if he has a bad game (and we all know he has these).  Remember his last game??  Interception during NY Giants game that sent the Giants to the Super Bowl.  Will always love Brett, but this NEVER should have escalated to this point.  So sad.

  9. I really don’t care. I pay my taxes to the team. Big deal.

  10. Rodgers doesn’t have to be Young.  Remember, Trent Dilfer won a SB…among others.

  11. Speaking of the press, wait ‘til he throws one of his patented late game interceptions.  Whoa.  Plus, the Jets suck…Favre isn’t going to do much there.

On another note, no body came out of this looking good but to say that TT and MM will be sacked if Rogers doesn’t pan out to be another Steve Young is ridiculous.

  12. Don’t take my word for it.  Check out ESPN

Thompson’s future now depends on Rodgers. If Rodgers gets hurt, the Packers are done. If Rodgers can’t handle the pressure, the Packers are done. And Thompson with them.

Instead of Favre—who earlier last season helped lead the Packers to the NFC Championship Game and finished second in the league’s MVP voting—Thompson would rather have three quarterbacks on his roster with a combined zero NFL starts. He’d rather have Rodgers than the most durable quarterback in the history of the game.

  13. Hello, all that proves is that both you and the ESPN columnist share the same opinion. Not that you, or he, hold the truth.

The Packers have to build on last year’s success.

The only way MM or TT get ‘sacked’ at the end of the year is if we were to have some sort of abysmal 4-12 type season and that is simply not going to happen

  14. I wish him well, but I doubt the NY media will worry much about his fragile ego and hurt feelings…

  15. If arod gets hurt in week 1 or 2 you will go 4-12
    your backup is a rookie.
I guess chad pennington is collecting unemployment now. so he can be your qb.

  16. It may take as many as three seasons but if Tedd doesn’t have a great QB on his roster by then he will be done as a GM forever.
