Fallone’s Friends

Well… with things like this and Rep. Hulsey holding a fundraiser for him, I question Fallone’s judgment.

Fallone in 2001 was the president of the board of the Latino Community Center in Milwaukee. The center’s founder, Modesto Fontanez, served as executive director at the time.

The center was seeking funding as it got its start, but came under scrutiny because Fontanez had founded the Milwaukee chapter of the Latin Kings in the 1970s and was convicted in 1987 of participating in a cocaine delivery conspiracy. He served eight years in federal prison for that crime.

Fontanez resigned as executive director in October 2001 after the woman with whom he had fathered twins was charged with killing one of the boys and injuring the other. She was convicted two months later.

Fallone stood by Fontanez through his resignation, which Fallone said at the time he accepted “with regret.”

“When I came on as president, I supported him because he had a fantastic program that was helping hundreds of kids,” Fallone said of Fontanez in a recent interview.

[...]

Fontanez was arrested in April 2005 in Las Vegas during a traffic stop. Police said he had 49 kilograms of cocaine with a street value of $7.3 million. He was convicted and sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for possession of cocaine with intent to deliver.

  1. I’m reminded of all the ridiculous John Doe stories where the liberal media rushed to associate Walker with this stealing criminal whom Walker, himself, turned in.

Why is this liberal’s name not being breathlessly put in front of his assoiated friends?

Here’s some help for the liberal media:

“Fallone expresses support for child killer”.

“Fallone regrets child killer’s resignation from post.”

“Fallone, with support of child killer, appears to support retro-active abortion to age 18”.

I’m just using the liberal journalistic standard the media used on Walker.

  2. Gotta read a little closer Kevin:

Fontanez resigned as executive director in October 2001 after the woman with whom he had fathered twins was charged with killing one of the boys and injuring the other. She was convicted two months later.

Fontanez didn’t kill the child - he was merely a gang leader and drug dealer. smile

Seriously though, as I was reading the post, I was thinking…“so Fallone was guilty of giving somebody a second chance - it’s not like people aren’t capable of turning their lives around.” And then I got to the last paragraph. Notsomuch.
