It’s kind of good news.
Exports by Wisconsin companies rose by 11.8% to a record $19.2 billion last year, thanks to strong increases in sales to China and sales of agricultural products, the office of Gov. Jim Doyle announced today.
The increase was slightly slower than the increase in exports nationwide, which was 12.2% in 2007, the U.S. Commerce Department announced last week.
It should be noted that the increase in exports is in large part due to the weaker dollar. Foreign folks can get American good for cheaper due to the exchange rate.
I don’t understand how people don’t get that!
At least it still good news. There’s a bigger demand for American goods since more countries can afford them.
