Expensive Times

Wow… echos of Peg Lautenschlager*

A state employee who works as the attorney for the Gaming Division was paid more than $26,000 in mileage and other expenses the past three years.

A Legislative Audit Bureau report released today showed that the attorney was allowed to live in Chicago and claim that as his office. He was then paid to commute to work in Madison and reimbursed for mileage between his home and the division’s office and for food and lodging while in Madison.

The audit says that arrangement has been in place since at least 2003.

*Ahhhhh, the good ol’ days.

  2. Not that I’m aware of.  I was referring to the fact that Lautenschlager declared her home in Fond du Lac as the official AG office which entitled her to a state car to drive back and forth to Madison.

  5. As you guys probably noticed, this attorney is in charge of advising the State on Indian gaming.

    Probably couldn’t find a Wisconsin attorney willing to say that advertising for the State lotto and high stakes Casino games should be allowed given the recent Supreme Court case and State Constitution.

    So Doyle went to the home of Obama to find a corruptible FIB to take the job and give the opinions he needed.
