  3. I don’t think it’s my favorite Elvis song of all time, but it’s certainly my favorite post-1960 Elvis song.

    Dwight Yoakum’s cover of it is pretty good, too.

Hands down my Mom’s favorite song.  I still remember when he died, I was in, of all places a “Brownie” meeting.  I remember the troop leaders getting all teary eyed when they talked about it and as a 5-year old I just couldn’t understand. Great music!  Just took me a few more decades to start listening to it.

  5. I believe that is the Hawaii concert broadcast by network T.V.
    The first time I ever watched him (besides in a movie) and that song stood out to me. Like you Katrina it took me a couple decades to embrace my internal Elvis fascination.
