Doyle Wants to Spend Federal Handout on Pet Projects that Locals Don’t Want

I’m sure that the folks over at the West Bend School District are getting hopeful.

Doyle said he wants to find a way to spend the federal cash on school building programs that doesn’t hurt districts whose voters were willing to raise their property taxes. In other districts, voters who killed school building projects to avoid raising their property taxes may be “thrilled” to have federal money pay for the construction, he said.

  1. Since local property taxes and federal taxes are derived from the same source - the taxpayer - he’s basically saying “I’ll get your money one way or the other - and your little dog too!”

  2. And where will the money come from to put the extra staff into the buildings, heat the buildings, cool the buildings, power the lights, computers, and overhead projectors?

And what about the cost to cover upkeep?  Or the lawn care?

Wow - this stimulus bill has the liberals giddy with delight that they can’t see the forest for the trees and long-term consequences be damned…

I say they should just spend the money on these new buildings and the taxpayers should let the f’ers crumble when the school boards come calling for the dollars to pay for the aforementioned items.

After all, it was free money anyway, right?

  3. That’s more of the jobs he’s creating.  Just remember that all new construction will be painted green so it can be identified, got to create green jobs.  Either that or it must be called Obama School or Obama Bridge or Obama Bike Path or ???
