Doyle Asks EPA To Relax Pollution Regs

This is a good thing.

Gov. Jim Doyle has asked the federal government to relax air pollution regulations in eight eastern Wisconsin counties, a move that could make life easier for businesses.

The counties - Kenosha, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Waukesha and Washington - are in what’s known as non-attainment status. That means ozone pollution, a component of smog, in the counties exceeds acceptable levels set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

But readings in the counties have been under the threshold for the past three years, allowing the state to ask the EPA to take them out of non-attainment status.

  1. I wonder what Doyle has up his sleeve?

Doyle is certainly NOT doing this to benefit the residents of Wisconsin.

He’s gonna nail us with some other Ungodly Difficult to attain Environmental regs some where along the way.

    Just you watch.

  2. Maybe he’s looking for contributions from environmentalists to get him to “change his mind.” You know everything Diamond Jim does is connected to his campaign fund.

  3. Well if we don’t need our special blend of gas any more, the price would go down because of supply.  His gas tax wouldn’t be noticeable if price was decreasing, would it?
