Doyle as VP

The NY Times seems to think that Jim Doyle, governor of Wisconsin, may be on a short list for a VP slot.

That’s the speculation from The New York Times, which this week listed Doyle, along with New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, and Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack as potential picks for the party’s No. 2 slot this fall.

Don’t get your hopes up - either side.  Although Doyle might make sense on the surface because he comes from a battleground state, his numbers are weak and he has absolutely no national name recognition.  He may make the short list, but I seriously doubt that he will be a VP candidate.

  1. Cool.  I hope he resigns so that he can campaign.  That would make liberal wacko Lawton the governor and virtually guarantee a Republican governor in the next election AND a second term for Bush.
How can a crooked, no good idiot like Doyle get on the ticket?  What a sad state of affairs for the Democrats if Doyle is the best they can do.
