Heh.
Dohnal is suing Blonien in Milwaukee County Court, accusing his former comrade of failing to come up with his half of the cash needed to launch a jointly run political newsletter called The Sportsman’s Digest. Dohnal says he is owed nearly $21,000, plus interest.
The publication, which launched in March 2007, is on hiatus.
“I am working on two deals to resurrect it as it is great paper,” Dohnal said via e-mail. “When we get out of Obama recession, it will go.”
Even if that happens, Blonien won’t be part of it. Dohnal said Blonien, who could not be reached for comment, now works elsewhere.
Karma.
Seriously - it was an amateurish publication doomed to failure.
The Wisconsin Sportsmen’s Digest was a fantastic magazine that got snapped up at all of it’s locations every month. Most of the advertisers loved it as they got sales from it.
Too bad the Obama people can’t follow the path of Ronald Reagan and JFK and get the economy going again.
Four sports magazines went out of business or greatly reduced distribution last year.
We shall return.
Oh, my—where do I start?
Without Blonien there to edit Dohnal’s poorly-written rants, there’s little hope that anything Dohnal would produce would look much better than his barely-readable rants here.
Why is is that Dohnal seems to have this effect on everyone he deals with? I seem to remember Bob coming up with one of his “great ideas” for a “sportsman’s town hall” for Reynolds back in the day. Great stuff, he told the office staff—I’ll do the work, you guys just use Reynolds’ Senate franking privileges to put out the invites.
Then, of course, at the 11th hour, we found out that Dohnal had done exactly *nothing* to prepare for the event, and had to scramble to pull it together on a moment’s notice—getting groups to put on display tables, getting the DNR to come, finding sponsors, etc.
Then, to cap it off, he had the gall to stand there at the event and take all the credit. A class act, for sure. Maybe Blonien just got tired of being treated similarly. Perhaps he tired of hearing the same old canard about how the Wisconsin GOP stopped being “principled men” after they declined to implement Bob’s master plan for saving Kasten.
Or maybe money’s a little tighter for JJ since he stopped having the opportunity to “work at home” while being paid from Reynolds’ office account. Who knows?
I do have to say though—this is entertaining stuff. If I had the time, I’d love to sit in that courtroom and watch this play out. What fun!
Silliest thing I ever read by people whose only fame is getting fired by Tom Reynolds.
Getting canned by a widely-renowned nutcase is one thing. Having 150,000 constituents resoundingly toss you out as their state Senator after one term—priceless!
C’mon, Bob—you tore yourself away from your Reynolds Altar—you know, the one with the perpetually-burning candles encircling a picture of the Father of Christ (see Reynolds family Christmas Card, circa 2003)—just to sputter that out?
Some people grow up, some never do.
Dohnal…
Gotta love how you shirk personal responsibility and lay the blame for your poor business decisions at the feet of others.
To top it off - you sue everyone in sight.
Eee Gads Man! You must have a recessive liberal gene manifesting itself in your old age.
You should get that checked-out buddy…
