Diamonds and Guns

Cool!

Valentine’s Day shoppers are getting more ‘bang’ for their buck at one Eau Claire store.

It’s an unusual combination. Buy a pair of diamond earrings, get a free gun.

General Coin and Gun Exchange owner Brian Zinn says since “guys like guns and girls like diamonds,” he would “mesh the two together this year.”

He says some wives have been sending their husbands into the store to take advantage of the ‘bang bling’ deal.

Zinn says if you buy a $400 pair of diamond earrings, you can pick any gun in the store worth under $300.

  1. I’d love to be a fly on the mobile home wall when those gifts are exchanged.  Then it’s off to Applebee’s for $5.99 steak, fries and slaw with my “fiancé”.

  3. I am a gun owner/gun rights supporter - but I’ll side with Bleep Bloop here and say that these kinds of “promotions” do have extremely redneck overtones. It’s definitely good from a promotional standpoint, though.

  4. Owen…No.  You do not have time to drive to Eau Claire before Saturday, and even if you did…no.

  5. Any gun under $300?  Probably not even worth the trip.

  6. Jed,
I happen to know the guy who runs the shop day-to-day.  As I understand it they give a larger discount if you buy a larger item….as an example if you buy a $1000 pair of ear rings you get an $800 gun for free.

  7. I am so there - better this than the porkulus bill to stimulate the *ahem* economy. And any chance to increase the size of my *ahem* collection.
Enough puns, off to Eau Claire.

  8. So essentially, Jed, you can buy a fancier gun and get the jewelry free.  If you don’t have anyone to give the jewelry to, I’ll take it.  I need some diamond earrings anyway.

Interesting… A stereotype measured with reality. Hmm

Though on that regard Fuzz… Guns and Bling Bling… Sounds more like a ghetto promotion to me don’t you think?

I’d love to be a fly on the mobile home wall when those gifts are exchanged.  Then it’s off to Applebee’s for $5.99 steak, fries and slaw with my “fiancé”.

And I’d love to be standing on 25th and Center when these gifts are exchanged “hey my baby momma I gots u some bling bling fo valintinze day”  as he tucks his new gat in his waistband and its “off to cruise sherman blvd. Rolling on some 22’s”
