  1. You know, I was actually feeling bad that I wasn’t able to feel anything resembling sympathy if this sucker hits NO and takes it out.  Why, because the people there now have for the most part lived through the “365” year storm.  But the cock-fuckers in the video are much colder and more heartless than I could ever be.

  2. The south thought God was on their side during the Civil War, too.

  5. Hmmm. I wonder what the decent folks in the path of the hurricane will think of this and Mickey Moore’s comments when it comes to voting time?

“God is on our side” when refering to fellow Americans suffering from a natural disaster is about as cold as it gets for heartless bastards. Jason, you look like Mother Teresa compared to them.

Boys, we are talking adult stuff here. You can talk about your game in the kiddie lounge.

  6. Oh, if I’m the RNC, I’m buying the rights to this tape.  And then I’m enhancing the audio, slapping subtitles on it, and running it in swing states and around the Gulf Coast after this hurricane hits.  It’s not even about hurting Obama.  It’s about noting that some high-level Democrats are so desperate for power that they’re willing to cheer for a hurricane to wipe out Louisiana if it improves their odds.

If you’re Obama or another Democrat, you can say that Don Fowler doesn’t represent you.  But he’s a former DNC Chair, which is going to be good enough to piss off your average voter.

    What an absolute gift.

  7. Good idea, RS - I suggest they get the rights to Bob Dylan’s MTV-Unplugged version of “With God On Our Side” to play in the background.

  8. One would think, that the Dems had learned to choose their words more carefully after having many of their talking points against each other coming back to haunt them in McCain campaign ads. They are ambivalent to Hurricane Gustav, for it is Hurricane Palin that they fear the most.

  9. I realize that this is only two men talking on a plane. What they are talking about is completely wrong. Do not judge the rest of the Democratic Party for what two idiots on a plane say. Don’t think for a minute that the other party is any better for one moment. I can just imagine what things they might say when they think they are alone and not being taped by an eavesdropper in the next row.
What they are saying is wrong but the sheer joy you are having with it is wrong too. Both sides do it and you know it.

  10. Really, MoveForward?  A moral equivalence argument between Democrat party leaders who think God wants to put Americans at risk of injury and death from a massive hurricane for their own (and His, evidently!) partisan gain, and those who think this abhorrent sentiment can and should be turned against them?

    Good luck with that.

  11. Claiming to know His will or motives is obscene whether done by political hacks like Fowler or former candidates for president like Pat Robertson.

  12. It wouldn’t be an issue if we had handled Katrina right in the first place.
    Good luck with that!

  13. It wouldn’t be an issue if we had handled Katrina right in the first place

Yes, Katrina could have been handled better - 3 years of “experience” works wonders (or growing a set):

Looters will go directly to jail. You will not get a pass this time,” Mayor Ray Nagin said. “You will not have a temporary stay in the city. You will go directly to the Big House.”
Nagin has used stark language to get his message across to residents, calling Gustav the “mother of all storms.” Emergency officials have repeatedly warned that those who stay are on their own, and there will be no shelter of refuge like in Katrina, when thousands waited helplessly for rescue in a squalid Superdome.

I so tires of this crap from the left.

The Governor and Mayor, both Democrats totally screwed up Katrina, pre & post storm.

The feds had their issues as well but Katrina was a huge failure of everyone involved (R) & (D).

Only the (D)s don’t want anyone to think that any of their actions had anything to do with this.

Grown ups accept responsibility, children point blame in another direction.
