Zing.
“Most of us believe that the decision as to major reform of how Americans get their health care in this country deserves at least as much time and deliberation as it would take to select a puppy to live in the White House,” he said. “It took the president six months to decide how long and which puppy he was going to have. ... To expect Congress to do something on major health care reform in six days is totally irresponsible.”
Again, if Congress and our fearless, enlightened leader are not going to participate in this piece of trash, why should we have to?
This comparison is ridiculous for 10,000 reasons…..but of course you think its a “zinger”.
Sounds pretty dead on to me.
I agree with Bill sounds like its Dead on to me too, Barney why don’t you give us a few of reasons its ridiculous?
Talk about hitting the nail on the head! I just wish I would have thought of it first.
Goes to show where the American people rank on the Obama-meter.
Obviously, puppies have different personalities. The Obamas had to find a dog cute enough for the kids, respectable enough for the White House, expensive enough to appease the privileged, etc.
The health care plan only affects the unwashed private sector who has no say in it whatsoever anyway.
Duh!
Really, how simple can that angle possibly be? Currently the Government oversees health care for the public sector. How can President ‘bring everyone together’ force millions of people to change their insurance to something inferior to the least full time public sector insurance coverage and not see that as a major divisive issue?
Too bad we already know the answer, the President will say: “It is not divisive.” That record has already played.
Why the big rush to pass this piece of crap, when it won’t take full effect until 2013? (and what big election is in 2012?).
The truth is that socialized heathcare is a land-mine. And democrats know it. Deep down they know it, Obama knows it. He knows its bad for the economy, he knows its bad for freedom, but its REALLY good for government and REALLY good for dependence. He’s ok with sacrificing future progress by mire our economy in socialism because its politically advantageous and since there is no crystal ball, its impossible to see “what would have been”. Once we ram socialized medicine through, we’ll never know the sacrifices made. We’ll never know the medical breakthroughs that we’ll never see because the profit is gone from healthcare. We’ll never know how entrepreneurship and innovation would have addressed the healthcare cost-issues in this country. But we will have a HUGE government program that we are stuck with forever as millions will become dependant on it and forget that there was a time when “oh my god” people had healthcare without government.
Much like we’ll never know the detriment that social security has placed on our economy, healthcare will be the same.
The truth doesn’t sell well and as such its critical for Obama to ram this through and ask questions later. Problem is that fresh on peoples minds is the rediculous bailouts and getting that “rammed through” only to have the truth come out later.
Going to the well too many times. If Obama was smart, he’d back off healthcare now. Americans are overall stupid and they have a very short memory and short attention span. Should have waited til times were better and people forget how pathetic government intervention in the private system works out. Instead people are starting to ask questions and they don’t like the answers.
Tactical error on Obama’s part.
It is not about reforming healthcare. It is about taking control of the private sector. They need to do it quickly so people don’t learn how bad it is until it is too late.
I have heard nothing about the most important part of this. What does the actual government policy cover? What are the benefits under government insurance? Does anyone know?
Obamacare will eventually kill most private insurance and force us into the government plan. When I am choosing between buying two insurance policies, I compare features. Am I missing something?
