Covering the Defending the American Dream Summit

Steveegg is valiantly covering the Defending the American Dream Summit in Waukesha today.  Check him regularly for updates.

I’ll be there in a bit.  Hopefully, Steve will censor the profanity filled tirade that I have written for my bit this afternoon.

  1. I’m the Ace of the Cheddarsphere (though without the awards, yet) grin

  2. Just curious… Will Mark Block be advising Judge Gableman on how to violate the campaign finance laws like he did for Justice Wilcox?  You know, so Gableman has to pay $10,000 and apologize for the slimy company he kept during the campaign?

I know that Judge Gableman isn’t very bright, so hopefully someone will tell him to keep away from Mr. Block!

  4. And wally the troll steps forward with personal insults.  Apparently he isn’t too bright either to come with something as stupid as that comment.

  5. Censor it? I want Youtube footage!

  6. I’m at the larger conference in the ballroom next door.

I’ve figured out how the Americans for Prosperity got so propsperous…

They’ve been helping themselves to the food and drinks paid for by the Woodland Owners group.

    Owen…

I guy that looked just like you grabbed a pop from our bin.  Was it your evil twin brother?  wink

  7. As it turns out Owen’s the honest guy so it must’ve been someone else.  red face

Funny to note the difference in attire between Defenders of a Dream and growers of the trees…

  8. The truth hurts.  The last Supreme Court candidate who got involved with Block ended up paying a $10,000 forfeiture for the privilege.

  9. You tree farm guys may be nice folks and all but when I saw a Farmers Union Booth there - I must say, I have my doubts.

If you tree farm guys are worth your salt, the Farmers Union had a lonely and unproductive day.

  10. Woodland owners are open-minded entrepreneurs.

In a word, we are all for prosperity.

If someone wants to pay and participate as an exhibitor - we’re fine with that.

I hope you don’t have anything against family farms.

BTW - The Farmer’s Union was sharing info on how tree growers can participate in their Carbon Credit Program.

Since carbon credits are inevitable I might as well start studying-up on how I can get my share of the pie.

Prosperity for all you know… LOL

  11. It always amazes me that people with little or no accomplishments in life are always talking about people that have acomplishmenets, like Judge Gableman, and called them stupid.

  12. Let us consider Judge Gableman’s credentials.

He received his undergraduate education at Ripon College.  Line up the public and private universities in Wisconsin top to bottom based on quality and there is no argument that Ripon is at or near the bottom.

His law school education was taken at Hamline University in the Twin Cities.  Line up all of the law schools in the Midwestern states and you will find Hamline at or near the bottom.  Why did Judge Gableman go to Hamline?  It’s likely the only law school to which he was admitted.

Let’s face the truth:  WMC had to reach to the bottom of the barrel for a Supreme Court candidate this time around.  I don’t doubt that he is a pleasant fellow, but you need to invoke the “Hruska defense” to justify his candidacy.

Surely you recall the words of the late Nebraksa Republican Senator Roman Hruska, Dohnal, when defending one of President Nixon’s less qualified nominees:

    “Even the mediocre deserve representation!”

  13. Now we measure people by the college they went to?  Whcih one did Lincoln attend?  Reagan, one of the three greatest presidents of the last century, where did he go?  Nixon, a giant intellect with great flaws.  Whittier?  Bush went to Yale and Harvard but liberals tell me what a dumby he is.
Many of the top executives in this country came from one room school houses and state colleges.
Scott Walker never finished college.  One of the smartest men I’ve ever known, my Uncle, just finished tenth grade, went into service then built a large consrtuction company.  He was a Kennedy liberal, knew more about issues then anyone I ever met.
Hubert Humphrey once said that the conversations with the farmers in the town where his father’s drug store was, at the local coffee house, were far superior to the debate in the US Senate.
Mental midgets measure people by their pedigree instaed of their intellect.

  14. All of us would like a more inexpensive alternative to imported fuel but further studies must be conducted. Efficiency is a very important factor to consider.
