Cop Killer Killed

Good.

The man suspected of gunning down four police officers in a suburban coffee shop was shot and killed by Seattle police early Tuesday, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Maurice Clemmons was shot to death in a working-class south Seattle neighborhood after police tracked him down using possible hiding spots supplied by Pierce County investigators, said Ed Troyer, a spokesman for the county sheriff.

Authorities say Clemmons, 37, killed the four Lakewood officers at a coffee shop Sunday morning in Parkland, a Tacoma suburb about 35 miles south of Seattle.

  1. Though us Christians are sickened by what he did, we are not thrilled that he Clemmons was killed. Plus now we have to guess at why he did it.

  2. Agreed.  But I am less interested in why he did it then preventing him from doing it again.

  3. Who cares why!  Clemmons executed 4 cops.  Let’s not forget the other crimes that were pending (young girl who was raped for example).  While I wasn’t there, I’m sure Clemmons wasn’t shot because of the crimes he committed.  That is illegal, and wrong.  I’ll bet the house and dog that Clemmons was shot because he tried to use or threatened to kill the arresting officers.  As a Christian, I value life as well including the lives of those trying to take this evil person into custody.

  4. Dan - makes a good distinction.  This is not a repeat of the murder of Dr. Tiller.  This was a necessary killing by the secular authorities trying to bring a criminal to justices.  This is an appropriate use of the sword which God has given to the gov’t - lefthand kingdom.  While I supposed we may prefer that Clemmons stand trial - no Christian need be upset by this death.

  5. Clemmons was a sick and dangerous person who was becoming more so by the day. I personally thank God and those who rid us of his sickness we no longer have to worry about him causing further terror and pain.

  6. As a Christian I am thrilled that he was killed.  Further, I hope it hurt like hell for the few seconds it took him to bleed out.  Some people need killing, this animal was one of them.

  7. Yah - I’m shocked that he didn’t quite make it into custody.

Another plus?  I think we can finally put the end to any speculation that Huckabee will come off his sweet talk show gig on Fox to run for President again.

  8. Mike Huckabee gave clemency to this character.  Should do him well for a 2012 bid for President.

I will not for a second defend the guy or mourn his death, but…wow. Is this the voice of Christianity today?
