Civic Lesson

I didn’t do too bad...

You answered 55 out of 60 correctly — 91.67 %
Average score for this quiz during September: 74.8%
Average score since September 18, 2007: 74.8%

You can take the quiz as often as you like, however, your score will only count once toward the monthly average.

...but obviously I have some work to do.

  1. You did better than me and I got an 80%.  I was happy to get that.

  3. 54 out of 60 for me, largely because I’m woefully underversed in economics, and missed 3 of the last 10.

  4. Only three wrong for me!  But, yep, in economics.  Odd that so much coverage has called this a history quiz.  It’s also philosophy, economics, political science, etc.  Calling it a civics test, as its originator and Owen do, is much more descriptive.

And it sure wasn’t easy—as I was, to explain my score, a history major.  And I took a course in basic philosophy since, covering just these classics.  But how I wish I had taken an econ class in college—as I realized too late, when I found myself in the business sector, so I took a quick course.

So in business terms, the bottom line of this test is that a six-week noncredit course in anything is not enough to make it past more than a few basic questions, at least for me.

  5. I have not taken a single course in philosphy and am in high school but managed a 55. Yay!
