This story provides an interesting view inside the mind of the AP reporter and editors.
Adviser Daniel Patrick Moynihan, notable as a Democrat in the administration, urged the administration to initiate a worldwide system of monitoring carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, decades before the issue of global warming came to the public’s attention.
OK, that’s interesting as a little footnote, but don’t you think there might me some interesting stories of more historical relevance in this?
The documents also include about 5,000 pages of now unclassified national security records on the 1973 Arab-Israeli War, correspondence between Nixon and then-British Prime Minister Edward Heath and back-channel Soviet-Israeli relations.
Nah… who wants to do any heavy lifting? Who cares about America’s involvement in the Arab-Israeli War? It’s more fun to talk about Global Warming.
1. The dangers of carbon dioxide support the global warming hoax. So does the current politcal regime inside the beltway (that’s about to change).
2. The information about America’s historical relationship with Israel might pour cold water on the current political regime’s “Chicago Way” approach to diplomacy with that nation.
AP is little more than a mouthpiece for the policies of the current political regime. Now, we don’t want to make Gibbsy mad, do we?!
I worked for a media outlet for a few years… and that is exactly the way reporters think. THEY decide what stories are important for you to know and they chooses which ones you will never see… mostly through the lens of their predominantly liberal points of view. It’s a soft bias that the reporters themselves often can’t see. When almost everyone around you agrees with your opinion, and people who do not are subjected to public ridicule, then it is easy to assume that everyone in the public agrees with you as well. Same problem plagues our colleges (where baby reporters are hatched) too.
That’s why reporters can’t fathom the reasons that Democrats do not sweep the national elections. They assume that it’s just the uneducated, the racist, the unwashed and the bible thumpers and gun nuts that drive those nasty red votes. I mean really… who WOULDN’T vote blue?
That’s why reporters can’t see any interest in a story about the USSR (they were never that evil anyway… just misunderstood) and Israel (definitely aggressive and a bit evil), but they do see a great story about a forward thinking Democrat rescuing us from the evils of our carbon addicted nation. The science is in, there is a consensus.
Thank God that we have new networks and alternative media (like blogs for example) to allow the non-conforming stories to get out there.
... and as you can see by the spelling errors, I was clearly NOT an editor. ![]()
Spelling errors aside, you nailed this.
Thank God that we have new networks and alternative media (like blogs for example) to allow the non-conforming stories to get out there.
The media has been picking and choosing their stories for years. Now the internet helps them decide. The John Edwards story comes to mind. When in the past would a story from the National Enquirer about the transgressions of a Democrat go mainstream?
Al Gore might be next…
Amerika Pravda
They will let you know what to think.
