Cement Firm Leaves Sicily to Protest Mafia

Yikes.

An Italian cement firm is pulling out of Sicily in protest at what it says is Mafia extortion.

Italcementi says its subsidiary Calcestruzzi is closing “as a sign of a refusal to submit to, or to show any compliance with” the Mafia.

Twenty-six people work for the firm at seven sites in Sicily.

  1. Maybe they got tired of having to make concrete shoes.

    Seriously.

Merry CHRISTmas from Texas!!!  The Burger King here in Nacogdoches actually had this on their marquee today:
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON

Could not believe that a major chain eatery would put that on their marquee where all the public can see it.
