CNN) - President Barack Obama expressed gratitude last week to former President Jimmy Carter’s grandson, who had a role in leaking secretly-recorded video of Mitt Romney’s infamous “47%” comments, James Carter said Thursday on CNN.
Obama met James and his cousin, Georgia state Sen. Jason Carter, last week when the president was in Atlanta for a post-State of the Union visit.
“After (Jason) got his picture taken, he told Obama that I was the one that had found the 47% tape,” James Carter said on CNN’s “The Situation Room.”“Then Obama said, ‘Hey, great, get over here.’ And then he kind of half-embraced me, I want to say, put his arm around me, and we shook hands. He thanked me for my support, several times,” he said.
I believe it was Michael Kingsley who said that a gaffe if when a politician
accidentally tells the truth
This is what you conservatives believe. No one in the room debated the thought. They all agreed and thought ” this guy really gets it”
What’s the big deal. Own it!
Look how well it worked for you last fall .
It’s a bit funny, Mark, that in subsequent comments you can argue that Conservatives believe that we can ignore 47% of the population (that was a statement on political strategy - not a governing one) and then argue that it’s perfectly acceptable for Obama to ignore sizable chunk of the electorate when governing.
It appears Obama is not ignoring a majority of the electorate.

There’s been a lot of talk about how the Party of Free Stuff won. And no doubt that was part of it.
But Romney allowed himself to be defined by his opposition- which is almost always a sure way to lose. A surprising number of people voted against him because they were convinced he was a cold, heartless plutocrat.
If find it funny that Obama can label the rest of us as bitter clingers to our religion and guns in his fundraisers and get away with that by comparison.
Liberal media bias is powerful. It makes war on hard work and effort.
Kevin’s tears taste so, so delicious.

Translation: The party that cares about the common good more than the rights of the wealthy won.

So I should wipe those tears away and embrace my inner mooch?
(Opps, that sounds too much like pulling myself up… I should keep crying while doing that, right?)

You guys are getting their asses handed to them by my guy on every meaningful issue and you’re asking for mercy?
That’s not like you .you like partisan governing when it’s your ideas being implemented
My guy IS governing .
( just like your guy-Governor Walker is doing in Wisconsin)
When it comes to compromise and governing, I would say to you and Governor Walker , “You first !”
