Caroline Kennedy “Surprised and Dismayed” at Own Voting Record

What the heck?

Caroline Kennedy said she was “surprised and dismayed” by her own voting record, after failing to cast her pick for the very Senate seat she now hopes to take over.

Kennedy offered no excuses for why she failed to vote in a number of elections since registering in New York City in 1988, including in 1994 when Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan was up for re-election as the state’s senior senator.

“I was really surprised and dismayed by my voting record,” she told the Associated Press. “I’m glad it’s been brought to my attention.”

What… did she think that some Kennedy lackey went in and voted for her?

  1. When will we have the interviews with Charles Gibson and Katie Couric where she gets grilled on every book she’s read in her life along with asking her for the names of the members of the defense cabinet in Estonia and Latvia?

  5. You vote in the Senate not in the voting booth, silly plebs!

  6. It’s always sad to see situations like this.  There are surely some Democrats in NY who have busted their ass in the public sector trying to make people’s lives better.  People who’ve actually held real jobs, actually voted, and actually run for public office before.

And there are dolts like Caroline Kennedy, who are simply trying to not bungle the hell out of a family legacy handed to them on a platter.  What’s her qualification?  Her “job” in the NYC Department of Education for a few years, where she used her family name a few days a week to raise money?  Those two books she “co-wrote”?  What’s she ever done that didn’t involve her last name?

  7. I hope that she gets a better PR person after she is appointed. This had to look stupid to someone before it went it.

Could have happened in Wisconsin!  Too bad she’s in NY.

  9. I like her “I’ve voted a few times myself makes me qualified to represent the people” in a kind of Sarah Palin-ish “I can see Russia from Alaska, foreign relations qualification” manner of speaking.  Guess the Democrats have their own “clunkers” too.
