Oh, dear.
Singing about Ted Thompson? That’s about what he looks like now… if Favre and Co. win the super bowl - more than Teddy’s pants will be on the ground.
Not being a Packers fan, but having an enormous respect for Favre’s accomplishments, my question is: Can dyed in the wool green-and-gold fans pull for Favre while still despising the purple people eaters? Just curious…
Joe - I can’t, if Brett really wanted to be the starting QB for the Green Bay Packers he would be. Read this before replying:

Packer fans would rather cheer for laundry than people.
As a Packer fan, I’m happy to keep my allegiance with the NFC North. Go Vikes!!
1) Packer fans do not cheer for the Vikings. Ever. Period.
2) Immediately following this song/dance/cheer Favre retreated to his own personal locker room.
3) Owen, your Cowboys disappointed me.
4) Go Saints.
I’m with Fraley. Cheering for the Vikings is tantamount to treason.
I’m with Fraley. I can’t cheer for the Vikings. It’s impossible, and it’s not just about Favre.
The second the Packers went out the playoffs became all about the Vikings losing. Plan A did not work this weekend, but I suspect that Plan B (the Saints) or Plan C (the Colts) will not let me down. We must remember that save for the Cowboys rolling over, the Vikings have barely beaten anyone of consequence this season. They had the same creampuff schedule the rest of the NFC North got.
There’s no way the Vikings can beat three teams with a winning record consecutively, especially once they’re out of the Metrodump. I will continue to bet against Brett Favre. After all, I only need one bad game from him in order to collect, and he’s got a storied history of laying eggs in the playoffs.

And with Aaron Rogers killer 1st quarter interception, and overtime fumble, he’s on his way to establishing a similar storied history.
Bill
Even if the Vikes go all the way I dont see how it effects Thompson. QB play in Green Bay on Rodgers watch has been above par, if Favre was still here it would not change there record or make them a better team.
Favre is about Favre and his pocketbook, but this is pro sports and how the game is played, fans are loyal but to the players its a meal ticket.
No hard feelings Brett if someone wanted to hand a check to me for 12 million I would wear purple and watch American Idol.
Regardless the Vikes will choke they always do in the playoffs, if they would cut that roof off the dome and play like a true NFC North team perhaps they may someday be worthy of a title.
Where did that gazoo lady go when you need her?
oh when the saints
oh when the saints…....
Can’t root for the vikings, and while I loved watching Farve play for us, he is an A*$*#))$ and a prima donna, and I’m hoping someone absolutely destroys him. I’ve always liked Brees, but now I’m a huge Saints fan.
Good points crusher - but anytime you ran a QB who just won the Super Bowl out of town - questions are going to be asked. Of course Favre is a prima donna - you think MJ, Kobe, or any other highly successful athlete isn’t? Professional coaches and GM’s should have extensive experience in dealing with that.
Rogers is a good QB - but he will never be a GREAT QB.
Bill - Farve was not run out of town. Go read the article I linked - it is the best summary/time line of events I have found to date.
And, how do you know that Rodgers won’t be great? He had one bad series against the Cards. If the D had played on series we would have won the game almost solely on the strength of his play. Are we really going to hold an interception against him? If so, let’s talk about Brent’s multi-interception play off day against the Rams or perhaps his Int. in the NFC championship game just a few years ago.
Also, Farve didn’t just win the Super Bowl. He won the Super Bowl a decade before he retired. By your thinking, Don Hutson just set the all time receptions mark last week.
If I remember the super bowl correctly Desmond Howard was the MVP, not Favre. Special teams decided that game. The entire super bowl season benefited from a defense that will never be duplicated.
Lynn Dickey could have took that particular team all the way if given the chance.
Mute point come Sunday when after the game Favre is driving home for the season and not back to the mall of America.
Oh when the Saints…....
