Blowing Wind

Of course we all know that only yet another government bureaucrat is the ONLY way anything can be done safely. 

The members of the Board of Health also endorsed a proposed resolution from Land and Water Conservation Department Director Bill Hafs that asks the PSC to require Invenergy to pay for a full-time county staff member to monitor the construction and operation of the wind farm, if it’s eventually approved.

Asked if he thinks Morrison — where 54 of the 100 wind turbines are proposed — is a safe place for a wind farm, Hafs said, “Without a staff person there, my opinion is no.”

  2. Yeah - cause those union employees sleeping on the job for the county are NO representation of how gov’t works.

    Please - How many wind farms run right now w/o some sleep stooge looking out for our safety?? Has there been any reports of “unsafe” wind farms?

  3. It’s going to contaminate the water?  Like the spreading of industrial and animal waste did?  I guess that windmill chopping all the birds to bits and dropping them may contaminate it some. 
    I don’t care for windmills, there are more effective ways to spend money for electrical generation but all these NIMBYs drive me up the wall.  They did it in Vermont, they wanted to put some on the west slope of the White Mountains.  It was stopped because tourists might not like it and the area was tourist driven.  These are the same people that have voted to shut down a perfectly good nuclear plant.
    If they don’t want the plant, they shouldn’t get the power.

    And yes the wind industry does need to be regulated and watched, they are snake oil salesmen.

    Look it up wind is not a viable alternative to anyone but the taxpayer subsidized developer.

  5. Unfortunately, by us allowing our Government to become unaccountable to “We The People”, we are getting exactly what we are getting. The time to put our foot down has arrived, and if we don’t get off our butts soon, and make the much needed change that is obvious, we are all going to be in a world of “schist”(sp?).
