I’m not sure how that’s enforceable, but wow...
RACINE, Wis. — A 20-year-old Racine man who’s accused of engaging in lewd behavior in a library has been banned from “all the libraries on the face of the earth.”
[...]A Journal Times of Racine report says Carter is accused of openly masturbating in the Racine Public Library last week. A witness told investigators Carter was out in the open, not trying to conceal his act.
Wait a minute—-a library that actually set limits on something?
Wow.
Further evidence that public libraries are, many times, not children safe.
In college, I had a couple of buddies who worked late night security at Memorial Library in Madison. Suffice to say, there are stories…I’ll refrain from telling them here though, except to say that it was not so uncommon as you’d think.
Locke,
As someone who experienced the cesspool of UW-Milwaukee, and ran a newspaper reporting the activities of the cesspool ...there is one thing I never really saw at the UW-Milwaukee Golda Meir library-kids.
As long as its common knowledge the particular library is a cesspool of improper activity, like college libraries, I would never take my kids there.
It’s these community/municipal libraries that pretend to be kid friendly, but have the adult-oriented material and porn in the open for all to see, is where the problem lies.
The library should have a public “cesspool warning” if it allows improper material and activity for kids.
