I guess it’s time to let the cat outta the bag.
I’m giving up the private practice of law to return to active duty as a JAG officer in the United States Air Force. I was re-sworn on August 14, and I officially re-enter active duty on September 9.
This was not a difficult decision, though it’s a couple years overdue. I’ve missed the military ever since I separated to get my law degree, and it’s time to return to what I was meant to do.
What does this mean for the blog? Just the same old minimal participation on my part. I’ll finally be able to discuss many of the things that my current employment has prevented me from discussing, but of course I’ll be unable to discuss a whole new host of topics!
Anyway. Just thought our 3 loyal readers deserved to know.
:zpopcorn:
Jed - I feel pretty good about you back in the military. Just don’t forget about us rockers out here that have enjoyed your posts.
I’m kind of hurt that you were re-sworn 8 days ago and just now found time to tell your adoring public.
Congrats on getting back into a job you really enjoyed.
Bless you Jed.
Jed,
Congrats. And thank you for your service.

Hurray for Jed! I’m happy you’re doing what makes you happy. I’m also glad you’re going somewhere that’s good for a family vacation. Make sure your new house has enough room for all of us to visit. ![]()
I hope your co-workers are all as hot as the JAG folks on TV.
Congratulations… And thank you.
Congratulations, Jed and sucess.
Congrats, Jed! Go forth and do good. ![]()

I couldn’t risk my employers finding out before I gave my official notice.
I hope your co-workers are all as hot as the JAG folks on TV.
You mean all JAGs aren’t as hot as the ones on TV? Uh oh. I’ve made a huge mistake. ![]()
Congratulations!!!!
Jed and Thank you!!
Non Sibi sed Patriae
Congratulations, and thanks for your dedication and service. Do you know where you’ll be posted yet?
Jed, Uno Ab Alto… (Uncle was in the AF…)
Good luck and thank you for your service and dedication to my freedom.
Congrats, Jed!!!
I was only joking. I’m proud to see an Ag in uniform any time. Be sure you gig ‘em in the AF courts! ![]()
Congrats, Jed! It is good to see you go where you are needed and where you want to be.
”Kerry then told the students that if they were able to navigate the education system, they could get comfortable jobs - “If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq,” (San Gabriel Valley Tribune/Pasadena Star News)
I think Kerry really meant all the military instead of just those serving in Iraq.
Jed, John Kerry has found you out!
Good luck!!
At least in the AF you’ll avoid what an old friend of mine went through on his Navy JAG tour; a posting to San Diego, which meant spending his nights bailing drunken Marines out of the TJ drunk tank.
I’ve always enjoyed your blog, and seeing you on TMJ4. God bless you, your family, and all our troops. (But to become a puch.)
FYI, I also went back into the Army, spent 2-1/2 years in Vietnam (Never did get it right… and they cancelled the war). After 27 years I just retired….
Uhh Wayne, that is Owen.
Jed re-upped…
The Air Force Rocks! (I am biased, family and friends are in the Air Force) Congrats!
You get readers all over. I think your blog’s first post that I read had to do with a mountain howitzer.
I always regretted not getting back in for Desert Storm. At least you won’t have that regret.
Thank you for your past and future service. I owe you a drink or five, if you ever get to Los Angeles county.
Best wishes, and thank you for your sacrifice for this country.
I hope you feel challenged and fulfilled in all your new endeavors.Keep bloggin’!!!
Best of luck, Jed. Thanks for doing what you’re doing.
BTW, are you sure you didn’t re-join just to get free ammo at the range? ![]()
Congratulations, good luck, and thank you for your service!
Good luck and thanks for the service. Criminal defense attorney?
