ATF Agent Leaves Gun In Airport Bathroom

Nice.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says a special agent returning to Milwaukee International Airport left her firearm in a bathroom there Tuesday night.

Assistant special agent in charge Guy Thomas says the special agent immediately alerted authorities when she realized she left her weapon.

He says it was either recovered by local authorities or a civilian. Thomas says he didn’t know how long the weapon was left in the bathroom but he says the whole situation ended quickly.

Thomas — who is based in St. Paul, Minn. — says the situation is being investigated by the ATF, which is standard procedure.

He wouldn’t provide details about the Milwaukee-based agent, but he did say she was embarrassed.

I would think so.

  1. Just think of the guns that will be left all over if we ever pass conceal and carry. Day care center bathrooms. Rest stops. Miller Park. Church. I feel safer just thinking about it.

  2. Yeah, because that’s happened in the 48 other states that allow concealed carry in one form or another.

    Nice fantasy, Mike.

  3. Good thing the whole situation ended quickly. Just think what would have happened if that gun went into the wrong hands.

  4. This is really embarrassing. I should say whoever left the gun was so irresponsible.

  5. I’m sure there’s a Larry Craig, airport bathroom joke here somewhere…but I don’t feel like working that hard to find it.  smile
