Al Gore’s Kid Arrested

Al Gore’s son was arrested.

Al Gore III, 24, was arrested early Wednesday in Los Angeles after being stopped for speeding, according to a sheriff’s department spokesman.

Police found four types of prescription drugs in the car, but Gore did not have a prescription for any of them, according to Orange County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino. He also said a small amount of marijuana was found in the car.

I agree with Sean at The American Mind

Al Gore III isn’t a public figure. He doesn’t make policy or engage in political debates. From all accounts he’s a screwed up young man. Because of that he should be left alone.

  1. The most shocking part of the story is that a Prius can top 100 mph.  Other than that this is a non-stroy in my mind.  Al Gore III is a 24 year old man - not a 16 year old kid who is still under Al and Tipper’s watch.  I hope he gets his act together.  Being Al’s kid is probably not easy but if he can keep his head straight he will have a lot of advantages in life.

  2. For the most part the most interesting part of the story is the 100-mph Prius. Do you think AlGore made the son drive that car?

  3. Agreed. I forgot all about the drugs when I read that part about him topping the century mark in a Prius.  Does the speedometer on a Prius even go that high?  Did he have to draft to get that kind of speed?  I need some journalistic follow-up on this.  Where’s Nancy Grace when you actually need her?

  4. He needs help.
Please let’s all pray for him.

    Hogwash.
He drove a vehicle that had the ability to kill innocents while under the influence of drugs and alcohol!!!
Had someone died would we be as forgiving? NO
He drove on a major freeway where his capacities were deminished by 45% or more.
    Thats o.k. with you?
    Enough is Enough.
People who put my wife, kids, and my own person in danger need to be removed from the population.
Would I walk around a Mall waving a gun? No.
Yet if this were me waving a gun I would have been chastised and every reporter from Harpie Grace to Anderson Up The Pooper would be all over it, demonizing me as a wacko.
Yet we must give this young man a second chance.
    He’s not a young man. He’s 24.
He wielded a dangerous instrument, that instrument, accounts for more deaths in this country than any other, double the deaths in Iraq.
Re-Hab, NO. Would you argue for me to get re-hab? NO.

  5. The point is not to use Al Gore III to beat up on Al Gore jr. The kid will be dealt with by the CA judicial system on its own.

Al Gore III is a very naughty man, but this does not necessarily bring demerit upon his parents or his parent’s causes.

I’d agree - if AGIII were the exception, not the rule. His sisters may have pulled themselves out of their partying days, but those days of entitlement and dissipation are fact.

Also, AGIII has been called on for information and commented about his father’s political activities as recently as last December.

It also says something about the man’s character - or lack of it - that he is an associate publisher of the magazine Good (“media for people who give a damn”), but was caught doing profoundly bad. He is a media personage for a magazine that promotes his father’s progressive agenda.

  7. Enough with the Prius jokes.  Are they funny just because you’re jealous of the MPG they get?  Google ‘tesla roadster’, 0-60 in about 4 seconds.  You might want an electric car some day.

  8. They shouldn’t beat up on Al for his kid’s screw up. Just like they should have left the Bush twins alone. Sadly, it won’t happen. Displaced chedhead, while I agree he was weilding a lethal weapon, of what national significance, other than his being Gore’s son, is this story? The Bush twins had no significance either. Our society loves gossip. That doesn’t say much for us.

  9. One of the (many) perils of being the offspring of a lefty - you’d think the Goracle’s kid would have a cooler car.

Other than that, I agree - leave the kid alone.
