Here’s McCain’s commercial from last night when Obama made his historic acceptance speech:
Here’s the Obama campaign’s response to McCain’s historic VP selection:
“Today, John McCain put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency. Governor Palin shares John McCain’s commitment to overturning Roe v. Wade, the agenda of Big Oil and continuing George Bush’s failed economic policies—that’s not the change we need, it’s just more of the same.”
You stay classy, Obama.
Simple and polite video and good informative. Also i want to say that yup this post has a class. nice keep it up. I’ll be waiting for your next video or article.
Amidst a sea of misleading, deceptive, and outright dishonest attack ads, the McCain campaign runs a single, solitary positive ad, and you act as if that one ad represents the tenor of his entire campaign.
One positive ad doesn’t count as class after all the ads he’s run, and speaking of class, nearly every speaker to hit the podium during the entire Democratic convention made it a point to honor John McCain’s service to the nation as a pilot and as a POW.
Quite a difference from the disgraceful band-aid display at the 2004 Republican convention, and I’m absolutely certain not a single positive thing will be said about Obama at the upcoming Republican convention, as well.
Class, indeed.
I’m absolutely certain not a single positive thing will be said about Obama at the upcoming Republican convention…
Funny, I don’t remember any positive statements about McCain from the Dem convention this week. Is that a bad thing? Nope. It’s normal.
So can you admit that this one ad - even if an anomaly - is much classier than Obama’s response?
Sure, I’ll admit that, with the caveat that class is a relative term. But if you didn’t see any of the literally dozens of encomiums given to McCain for his service, you weren’t watching much of the convention. Speaker after speaker honored him for his service.
Speaker after speaker honored him for his service.
I admit that I didn’t see that, but I didn’t watch the whole convention. I’ll take your word for it and good for them.
First, I’d like to point out that #1 is spam.
I find this press release especially off-putting after Palin in her introductory speech specifically called out the historical precedents of Geraldine Ferraro and HRC. A gracious ad by McCain last night, followed by a gracious nod by his VP selection was starkly contrasted by what BHO’s camp put out this morning.
The country is starting to pay attention to this race and I believe these things will begin to make a difference.
Um The GOP released 2 or 3 ads the day Biden was announced, so whats your point Owen? I didn’t hear this issue come up when that happened? what changed?
The difference is the respect for history. Obama’s nomination was historic. Palin’s appointment was historic. Biden’s appointment was business as usual.
Palin’s selection as VP is historic… for the Republicans.
It’s pretty sad really. The Republican Party actually has several prominent females who were far more qualified to join the ticket. Instead, McCain picks a lightweight.

But they only had one GILF. A GILF will win everytime.
I don’t think this ad is classy, really. It comes across as condescending.
Good lord. You’re like the yin to Dan Cody’s yang, finding the slightest possible slight out of which to make a talking point, accomplishing nothing but looking like a partisan whiner.
At least Cody moderately pays attention enough so he doesn’t make claims like “they didn’t say anything positive about McCain at their convention”. Because I’m an idiot I stayed up to watch the big speeches every night and every single speaker went out of their way to compliment McCain, with Biden saying what close friends they are outside of politics.
Seriously dude, a little homework before posting, ok?
At RNC next week, GOP speakers should give nods to Obama’s record and service as a “community organizer” - whatever it is that one of those does…
At RNC next week, GOP speakers should give nods to Obama’s record and service as a “community organizer”
Forget about giving him any “nods”; I’m reasonably certain there will be at least one or two speakers each day that will call his patriotism into question or imply that he’s not a real American.
