  1. If only Jobs knew he was sleeping with the enemy…...in two years, MS would release the copycat OS known as Windows 1.0 and forever change the course in personal computing.  IMHO, MacOS was and still is the superior choice in PC operating systems.

  2. Agreed.

I wonder if Jobs and Gates would do something so jovial as this these days.

  4. Steve Jobs may be the only CEO on the planet who’s a bargain at any price.

Apple made many mistakes both while he was there and in the years he was away, but Jobs certainly has learned a lot and grown into a tremendous leader. And I’ll say the same thing I tell my Apple-hating friends: the world is a better place with Apple in it. Even if you don’t use any of their products, the fact that they exist and are continuously trying to innovate provides competition to a lot of other companies forcing them to improve as well. Even if you don’t like the iPhone (or hate ATT) odds are the phone you’re using is better in some way because if it. Windows would not be as good without the threat of another option via OS X.

  5. I agree.  I’d put Jack Welch, Steve Ridgeway, Larry Ellison, and Bill Gates in that category too.  The fact remains that true business leadership and vision is a rare commodity, but those who have it change our world for the better.
