I have confirmed that the West Bend School District will not pursue 4K.

I found 4K absolutely fantastic for both my kids… Then again, I was paying for it at a parochial school. Which cost far less and was a much better value than daycare was.

Do you doubt the educational value of kindergarten for 4 yr olds?
Is it seen as a luxury WB cannot afford?

It was never implemented, so it never became a program. But if it follows the blueprint of most other Liberal “programs”, yes it will be abused thus making it inefficient.

@Donovan: I was thinking something very similar, but I probably wouldn’t have put it quite the same way. Imagine if it had been “4K Dead In Milwaukee” (we can dream) and I said “4000 of Gwen Moore’s constituents”. Still funny to me, but there would be some real howls from the Lefty trolls here.

Forget the business about cuts.While I disagree about the value of 4K (I think its a pretty good educational service), I see where folks in WB might not want to start a new program like that right now. As neomom implied, many 4K programs can be quite good.

Mike - the larger point (and likely reason behind the criticism of you post) was that this wasn’t some new topic posted for the first time. Owen has made his position and reasons for it quite clear in the threads leading up to the apparent decision.

So curious in fact, that he/she has to spend a number of posts over two days to get the information from a group of people / blog that he/she publicly admits is easy to “overlook or dismiss”.
