Obama Wins the Nobel Peace Prize

I probably should have completely given up any notion that the Nobel Peace Prize was worth more than a warm bucket of spit when Arafat won it, but you’ve got to be kidding me...

OSLO (AP)—President Barack Obama won the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in a stunning decision designed to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism.

He has accomplished precicely nothing in any of those areas other than to secure another worthless UN resolution.  I feel bad for all of the people who actually deserved this.

Real Debate has this little factoid:

The deadline for being nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize is Feb. 1.

Ergo, Barack Obama could have only been President for less than two weeks if he was nominated at the last minute.
