No Need for Extra Security at Taxpayers’ Expense

This is wrong.

Madison - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen may be the first non-governor from Wisconsin to be guarded by state agents at a national political convention, if he gets that protection at the Republican Party event in September, officials said Friday.

Wisconsin’s past two attorneys general, the lieutenant governor, and five members of Congress from Wisconsin who could be polled Friday said they never had security details assigned to them during the national political rallies that occur every four years.

Unless there has been a specific threat made of which the public isn’t aware, I see no reason whatsoever for the taxpayers to pay for security for Van Hollen.  With all due respect, J.B., I suspect that Sensenbrenner would be a bigger target than you and he isn’t asking the taxpayers to pay for his security.
