Green Bay Soldier Receives Punishment For Being AWOL

Seems appropriate.

A Green Bay soldier who earlier this year refused to return to his unit in Iraq because he said the war is immoral has received his punishment.

Kristoffer Walker has been demoted four ranks from specialist to private, fined and placed on temporary confinement at a base in Missouri. He is back in the United States for medical reasons.

Walker, 28, is on a 45-day base restriction and had his pay cut in half for two months.

Lt. Col. Nathan Banks, an Army spokesman at the Pentagon, said Walker was flown Thursday from Germany to Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. Banks said there would be no more punitive action against Walker, saying the steps taken were consistent with military code.
