Fewer 90 Degree Days In Wisconsin

Brrrrr....

It hasn’t hit 90 degrees in Milwaukee yet this year. And forecasters at the National Weather Service in Sullivan apparently have been fascinated with the cooler weather.

Last week, they reported the number of days this year where the temperature got close to 90, but didn’t quite make it.

Now they’re noting that so far this decade, Milwaukee has had fewer 90-degree days than any decade since the 1900s. In Madison, the last decade with as few 90-degree days was the 1920s.

Of course, there’s more time this summer and next to bring up the number of hot days for the decade. But the Weather Service says there’s been a downward trend of 90-degree days since the 1980s.

The possibility of Milwaukee having its first 90-degree day of the year today may have fizzled with this morning’s storms.
