Deserted Island Music

I was watching High Fidelity (an excellent movie, BTW) last night, and it got me thinking about an excellent little exercise.

You’re going to be stranded on a deserted island for the rest of your life.  You’re beach pad has electricity and a kick-ass stereo.  (I know, just work with me here)

You can take only three songs with you.  What are they?  You can only name three.  No more, no less, no ties.

In no particular order, mine are:

• Stairway to Heaven, by Led Zeppelin
• Comfortably Numb, by Pink Floyd
and to mix it up a little…
• Southern Cross, by Crosby, Stills, & Nash

You can take only three albums with you.  Double albums allowed, but no greatest hits compilations, boxed sets, etc.

• The Wall, by Pink Floyd
• Dark Side of the Moon, by Pink Floyd

• Welcome to the Black Parade, by My Chemical Romance

You can take the collected works of three artists.  Every song in the discography.

• Led Zeppelin
