Baby Doll Coos “Islam is Light”

This story was sent to me by a reader.  I admit that as of now, I do not have independent confirmation of this, but I also have no reason to doubt my reader.  He/she has offered to produce the actual evidence. I will be working to verify this story later. 

Our reader purchased the Fisher-Price Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle and Coo Doll from Wal-Mart as a gift.  It’s just a simple doll that coos and makes baby noises.  Our reader was a bit shocked when the baby said “Islam is light.” 

Here is the recording.  Note that it is repeated twice.

I know that when someone tells you that they hear something in a series of random noises that your mind can insert it in there, but this sounds pretty clear to me.  Take a listen for yourself. 

The doll was manufactured in China (of course) and our reader indicates that many, but not all, of the dolls on the shelf had this recording in the doll’s rotation.

The company has eliminated that portion of the sound file from future production though dolls with the old sound file are still available in stores.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Snopes reports this to be false.  According to Mattel, the only scripted word is “mama.”  I buy that, but I also don’t rule out that somebody tweaked it during the manufacturing process.  In any case, Mattel thought is close enough to change the recordings.
